1. WHO MAY SPONSOR AN AVIATION EVENT?
Anyone, either an individual or an organization, who wishes to sponsor aviation events, may do so as long as the proper forms and supporting documentation are submitted to the Air Transportation Office (ATO) and subsequently approved.
2. SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION EXPERIENCE.
Individuals or organizations sponsoring an event need to file an Application for Aviation Event AS4-001.08 and Certificate of Waiver or Authorization AS4-002-08, is required.
3. PRE-SHOW PLANNING
The following items should be discussed with the Aviation Safety Division (ASD), Air Carrier Operations Section (ACOS) before the start of the preparation of AS4-002.08, Application for Certificate of Waiver or Authorization.
(a) Type of event (aerobatics, balloon race, parachute demonstrations)
(b) Status of Performers (club/association/commercial/civilian).
(c) Site Selection.

1. DETERMINING WHICH SECTIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NEED TO BE WAIVED.
The sections of the Administrative Order (A.O.) that will need to be waived depend largely on the types of operations to be conducted in the aviation event. In an effort to determine which sections of the A.O. need to be waived, the organizer should ask himself certain questions.
Questions that should be asked are:
