College, to me, is valuable to those who want to purse a certain career and/or have a passion for furthering an education. For those who, not necessarily don’t qualify for college, but want to do something different than everyone, have a…
College is not important to me for many reasons. For example, In the article”Facing the culture shock of college” by Kathleen cushman states that first in the family students are often taken aback by social groups. It says that first generation students won’t go to college with a good mindset unlike second generation students. For Example, your future is linked to the career you decide but you don’t have to go to college to get the job you want. Education…
Why go to college? Why would someone spend thousands of dollars to sit in yet another classroom? My uncle says “people that get a degree make over a million dollars more in a lifetime.” My dad counters that with “the world needs ditch diggers too.” I came to college to start my life, to become an independent man who finds his niche among society. I suppose some people can do that outside of school but I find college to be an optimum transition to the adult life as it teaches practical skills, instills a greater appreciation of the world, and makes one discontent with inequities in the community.…
Although college is costly and there is a shortage of jobs in the economy today, I feel that going to college is still important. College provides a great opportunity for people of different backgrounds. It provides students with the benefit of finding who out they really are and what they want to do in life. It also gives students the benefit of learning responsibility and preparing for adulthood. In addition, college helps students to make their own decisions and to be more independent. After graduating from college, a person is more prepared for whatever career they decide to pursue. There are many possibilities that lie ahead due to a college education.…
Restaurants in the 21st century are now bigger than ever before. Depending on what they serve and how they advertise their restaurant, it will either help a restaurant succeed or fail. One of the best restaurants to dine at is Olive Garden. Olive Garden is an immensely popular restaurant that serves Italian food. The price of food can be expensive or cheap depending on what the customer orders. It is not the typical restaurant; food is cooked to perfection as well as extremely healthy. Olive Garden is a phenomenal place to dine at because of its food, service, and atmosphere.…
Going to college is very important to me because it opens many doors and it provides me with many different advantages and opportunities. I’ve heard that in average, if you get a college education you earn nearly twice as much as those with only a highschool diploma. Another reason i would like to go to college is because it will help you learn skills before employment, this is because many college programs allow students to explore and industry before they are even employed.…
College is fundamental to me for several reasons. For example, in the article College Is Worth The Cost, by Brooks C. Holtom states that “college graduates earn $2.1 million in a lifetime income compared with $1.2 million for high school graduates.” I will earn about a million more dollars than high school graduates if I am a college graduate. This is important because then I will have enough money to provide for my own kids and wife later on then I would also have enough money to give to my parents and siblings if they need it. Also, the article states, “continuing education after high school is much more important for our generation compared to our parents generation.” Additionally most jobs require more than a high school diploma. Did your parents attend college? If your parents did not have a chance to go to college then you should go to college to make them proud of you. College doesn’t just bring you school it also brings you adventure, parties, new friends, and more fun stuff. Lastly, in the article Getting…
In today’s day and age, having a college degree is important. It is so important it determines whether you will be living in the streets or living in a nice fancy house. Going to college is a big step in pursing your career. Being in college gives you many doors for opportunity. Graduating from high school is only the first step. After graduating high school today you will not find a high paying job as opposed to a college degree. When applying for a high paying job, many if not all will ask for your education background. When jobs are looking to hire you its your educational background vs. the other applicants that are trying to take the same position as you. Gaining a degree also gives you a emotion of a strong…
College is important to me for many reasons. For example, in the article, Getting Ready for College Early, by U.S. Department of Education, states that “one of the major benefits of a acquiring college education is having more jobs to choose from” Having more jobs to choose from allows you to have a job that you enjoy doing. You won’t lose your job and you can make a living out of it. Secondly, in the article, Facing the Culture Shock…
The pursuit of a higher education has never been high on my priority list. Armed with barely an eighth grade education and tremendous ambition, I was able to achieve professional success in the absence of a college education. My heroes have always been men who have achieved great success with out an education; Henry Ford, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, and Richard Branson. With the recent downturn in the economy and I found my self seeking employment I realized that not only was I was missing many opportunities due to my lack of a degree, but if I had a degree it is highly possible that I might have been retained from a previous employer as opposed to being laid off. Obtaining a college degree will allow me to be more competitive in the market place, provide me with a great sense of achievement and personal fulfillment, gain more knowledge, and challenge me intellectually.…

Most people believe it is a waste of time, when in reality it is not. Not going to college can make it harder to get a job. People believe college is too expensive, but the only thing that is going to become expensive is not having a college education. There are many reasons why obtaining a college degree has such a strong influence on one’s life. First, after high school may people do not consider going to college for whatever reasons one might have. Not going to college was not an option for me. However, my parents never went to college, and watching my mom struggle to make ends meet I just knew that I did not want that to be me. Therefore, I do not want to live my life, paycheck to paycheck, and worrying about weather or not I am going to have enough money to pay to keep a roof over my head. The reason for going to college is that I wanted to have a better life. Not everyone can go to college to better themselves, but I am lucky, and truly blessed that I am getting a opportunity to better myself. In fact, college is extremely important to me. I am the first one in my immediate family to go to college so it is a big deal to everyone that I not just go but to also graduate.…
College can be so dreadful and boring to an extent where many people feel it is a waste of time. On the other hand, there are many people who make it a goal to attend college and earn a degree. A few years ago, I was one of the many people that dreaded the thought of going to college. That is until I realized I could no longer get promoted into the position I wanted at my most recent job. For most people, going to college can be very beneficial and awarding. Going to college can help you get a better paying job, help build confidence, and help you set an example to your children or anyone you are mentoring.…
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Many things have influenced my decision to continue my education but the number one reason is that I enjoy learning. There’s always something new to learn and use for the future. My parents encouragement has pushed me to become a better, stronger student and I am thankful for that. Both of my parents, and sisters went through college so, it has always been an expectation of me to go to college as well.…
There are several reasons why I am currently attending college. In my opinion, education is…
