On My Own Short Story Analysis

Every year, about 95% of kids in this world run away. Every year, 90% of those kids always return home because they miss their families. In the story May B. the reader learns that you will always return to family no matter how far away you might be. In the beginning of the story, May had to leave her family to go work for another family, because she needed the money. Then she tries to return home because she was alone and she misses her family. Unfortunately, she goes through some obstacles on the way. “And I’ll get trapped out here in a blizzard. On my own”(122). B When May B. runs away, she realizes that there will be a blizzard coming. This shows the reader that even though you may be away from family, you will eventually get back to them.
