The strategy was first proposed by the President of China, Xi Jinping, in 2013. The basic principals of the “One Belt One Road” strategy is equality and mutual benefits. As a CEO of a multinational corporation there is a risk of the different economic and political situations in different countries. The “One Belt One Road” initative is not only an economic initiative, but also a big political imitative. The United Kingdom and China has very different fundamental financial and legal challenges, and this is a risk for me as a CEO. If and my company want to benefit from the “One Belt One Road” initiative, it is important for my company to identify what sector in China my company fits and find an appropriate Chinese partner to learn about all the different political and legal in China compared to the United Kingdom.
