One Day Hannah Tante Rose Analysis
At the end of the story Hannah says she finally understands what Tante Rose meant about how choices were made. Hannah refuses to go to New York and peruse her piano-playing career. Conflict Hannah loves living with her aunt, but she wishes she could be like a normal girl. Tante Rose won’t let Hannah disobey the Sabbath or ride a bicycle because she was hurt on a bicycle as a child. When Tante Rose finds out, she kicks Hannah out. Hannah goes home to find out that Tante Rose was planning to send her to New York any ways, but Hannah refuses to go. Significance Tante Rose says in the story: "One day, Hannah, you will understand why I made that choice. One day you will understand why all choices are made." (page 32) Hannah's final words after
