Verse 1 - Harry
Written in these walls are the stories that I can't explain,
I leave my heart open but it stays right here empty for days. [Liam]
She told me in the morning she don't feel the same about us in her bones,
It seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone. Pre-chorus - Zayn
And I'll be gone gone tonight
The ground beneath my feet is open wide
The way that I been holdin' on too tight
With nothing in between Chorus - Harry
The story of my life I take her home
I drive all night to keep her warm and time...
Is frozen (the story of, the story of) [All]
The story of my life I give her hope
I spend her love until she's broke inside

When you initially hear a song it is often difficult to understand the meaning of the song, and even in some cases the lyrics. This is where music videos can be very helpful. They put a story line with the lyrics. This allows the viewer to understand it much better. However, this was not always the case, as televisions have not always existed. It was a long time after the television had gained popularity that MTV came along, and MTV in turn was responsible for creating music videos. As television was a visual medium, it would thus require something to view. This resulted in the music video, which led many different artists to fame. One artist who has used music videos as advertisement was Modest Mouse,…

Beauty, written by Jane Martin in the mid nineteen hundreds, is an ironic play about two successful women, Bethany and Carla. Both women were the same age yet complete opposites. They also had completely different personalities and were unhappy with their lives. Martin casted and characterized them this way to illustrate a few themes. The drama was mainly centered on the theme that no one is ever happy unless they get their wishes granted. However, in these two women’s cases, getting what they wanted caused them to realize there is nothing wrong with being different. These two themes can be seen through the two character’s success, jealousy, and a genie.…

    Boys n the band

Foremost, the film Boys in the Band, is the first major-studio production to deal frankly with homosexuality; a breakthrough film in the gay film genre. This film centers around a birthday party at an apartment in the city, where a group of closely knit friends are invited but a straight man surprisingly arrives, making the already unbearable tension even worse. What starts out as an entertaining evening plummets into a rollercoaster ride of emotion, infused with wit, and self-loathing, where there is humor one minute, and then it nosedives into a few gay friends ripping each other to pieces. At moments I cringed at the screen, then I laughed and I even felt awful. I felt as if the entire time I viewed this film I was doing so as an outsider, out of pure curiosity of the lives homosexual men lead and the awkward situations they encompass. Boys in the Band is directed to the 1970’s society, which at the time was blind to the homosexuality that had been going on around them for decades. It focuses on the ability to place a few dysfunctional people in a room together and force out great and awkward dialogue, and ultimately some characters' "evil" sides. While watching the movie I was astonished by how these men treated each other. For example Harold says, “beware of the hostile fag, when he’s sober he’s dangerous, when he drinks he’s lethal”, to Michael, who organized Harold’s party at his apartment. However, Michael was the bluntest character in the movie, he always spoke his mind (mainly because he was drinking) and at times he would brutally degrade the other men at the party. Even worse, violence is ignited throughout the movie from colliding homosexual personalities and the presence of a straight man at the party. At moments the cruelty of this film, whether physical or verbal abuse, makes you wonder how these men could of been friends before and how could they still be friends after this party. I believe the point of this…

Hemingway’s “The Killers” tells the story of a diner in Summit, Illinois, that hosts two rude overdressed men. The three employees of this diner are Nick, George, and Sam. Nick, a frequent character employed in Hemingway’s stories, watches as two strange men walk into the diner and sit down to order. After complaining for a while about the menu, these men eat their meal all whilst making rude remarks and racial slurs to George and Nick. Following their meal, these men proceed to tie up Nick and Sam, the cook, in the back of the diner. They continue by asking where a man by the name of Ole Anderson is. George responds by saying that Ole Anderson comes in regularly to eat. After revealing their intentions to kill Ole Anderson, the two men wait for their victim to show up. Once seven o’clock rolls around, the two assassins give up and leave the diner. Nick, feeling that he is obligated to warn Ole Anderson about the incident, heads over to Ole Anderson’s residence. Surprisingly we find Ole Anderson lying fully clothed on his bed. Having no response to Nick’s tale, Ole Anderson faces the wall and states that he has no desire to continue running from imminent death. Nick, shocked by his answer, returns to the diner stating that he is leaving Summit. He explains himself by stating that he can’t stand the thought of a man waiting passively for his death.…
