One Direction Impact On Society

One Direction has had an incredible impact on my world. Though they started out as a small-time band on the British television program X-Factor, they soon ended up being world-famous, shaping the universe that I live in. They have, through their good looks, fun personalities, and incredible voices, managed to successfully capture my heart as well as those of other teenagers and even adults. One Direction has, from their modest beginning, had a massive influence on the teen culture in general which I have grown up with, on the fashion that has accompanied that culture, the pop music that we teens love, and set the precedent and paved the way for other up and coming bands.
One Direction has had a far-reaching effect on my generation of teen culture. One of the main ways they did this was through the internet. They managed to piggyback on the social media world at the perfect time to help them “come to power” concurrently. By reaching out to me and to the internet-happy world, they successfully created, in my opinion, the largest “fandom” ever seen, only surpassed perhaps, by the incredible fanbase the Beatles collected in the 1960s. They honestly had to create a taste for this kind of music from scratch, as myself and others have been so influenced by rap and hip hop, that we didn’t even realize we were missing a major part of our “pop-diet,” the happy-jams. One Direction successfully brought this missing musical food group onto my plate and I have found that I absolutely love it! Apparently, the whole world does as well, since One Direction has set many billboard records, partially thanks to us fans, who on many occasions each made it our personal goal to do our utmost to help “our boys” top the
