The way Kesey writes the book it clearly shows that there is a type of hatred for people of power. A great example of this is when Nurse Ratched sends people who she personally has behavior problems with off to the "disturbed wing". Many of the behavioral problems are caused when the patients feel the pain of shock therapy or the frontal lobotomy. Nurse Ratched tends to think that introducing fear in her patients makes them easyer to control. Shes uses the power that has been given to her …show more content…
as head nurse to change patients as she sees fit. I can put a judgement that the whole ward can see how power has corrupted Nurse Ratched.
The way Kesey's view of power just has to be agreeable.
Back in elementary school the yard duty lady did not like her job or the kids. This lead her writing a ticket for simple things of your shoe being untied. Her abuse of power of not quested as she held a ranking with great responsibility and adults by first thought question kids as they reported her. The power given to yard duty personnel is so powerful that is many fall into corruption. Corruption isn't just limited to the present; empirically power has always led to corruption. A great real world example, Communism originally started off great with the help of Lenin, but Lenin was an Idealist and was soon to be replaced by the Stalin. Stalin's ruled that all human rights were done and were soon slowly taken, dissenters frequently disappeared, and general chaos seemed to rule the lower masses. What started off as a good thing, turned horribly wrong because one man had all the
power.
Even though people will always have different views on many topic, they are at the end the same. The book seems to believe that people of power are by default bad or dangerous. I think that they are victims of their own power and personal problems. They all seemed to want to change the world into what they see best. By this thought they will kill off anyone that did not agree with their views. This stated everyone has some resentment against the people who are more powerful than them. People out in the world still think that power does not corrupt, but this is caused by lack of real world experiences that they may have not faced in their life.
