One Night Description

The sound of people rustling and my dad snoring in my ear while I watch the train screech to a stop. I rushed off the train as fast as I could, and everything around me felt like it was in fast forward. The day we arrived was my dad’s birthday. We got dressed and waited in line for our reservation at the Eiffel Tower. Everybody crammed into 1 elevator. Nobody had any expression on their faces about how little personal space they had. I slightly looked up noticing a sign that said, “Please keep your belongings close and watch out for pick pocketers,” which shocked me to even realize they have to put up a sign telling you not to trust the people around you. I was very impressed at how little portions these plates had on them. In America, I expect to get a full plate, but in Europe it looked as it was an appetizer. The next morning we decided to go on tours and learn more about the city itself and the history that comes from it. When we got into our cab that was taking us to our destination, I looked out the window and was amazed at all the people who rode their bikes along the canals, under the beautiful trees and flowers over layering the sidewalks. I told my dad I wanted to rent a bike the rest of the way, so we got out of our cabs and found the closest bike rental. After realizing that the bike was way too tall for me and falling off a few times, I finally got the hang of it and we rode our bikes alongside the river until we reached the museum, The Louvre. Walking inside, it was astonishing to see the interest people take into consideration over the art. The way I’ve learned so much about this museum, it didn’t feel real to actually had step foot inside. Especially seeing the Mona Lisa, and how small it actually is.
