How I Got Chased By a Dog: One of the Worst Days of My Life
Looking back when I was a little girl about the age of 7, I always wanted a pet, I didn’t care what I just wanted one. So I told my mom about it and she let me get 1 fish. I loved that fish, I named him Samuel. Samuel was an angelfish, he was blue and he had a smaller fin on his right side. I chose him, assuming he wouldn’t get picked by anyone else. He only lived for a week and a half. After Samuel died, my mom didn’t think I would be ready for another pet.

So fast forward a couple of years, I was 12 years old and my birthday was in 2 days. Since my birthday was on Thursday which is a school day, we decided to go get ice cream on Thursday, and celebrate Friday & Saturday. When we

At first everything was going smoothly. I went around the first corner passing some stunning homes, then I saw a man crossing to my side of the street with his dog so I crossed to the other side and started pedaling quickly so I could get home. As I turned the corner, I saw the man cross the street so I assumed it was fine. I rode down back to my house and rode to the end of the street. I get to the alley and I see the dog standing there staring intently at me. I remember him because he was such a gorgeous dog, he was a light grey with baby blue eyes and a white tip tail. I was sitting there, stuck staring, terrified. I got off my bike and slowly backed away, still deeply starring at the dog. I’m not sure why I got off the bike instead of turning around and riding away. I took off in the blink of an eye, at the time me and my little cousin (who was 5 at the time) were outside riding taking turns. As I’m dashing down the street I shouted ”TT …show more content…

My parents talked to the breeder for what felt like ages. We finally got to see all of the dogs that they had. The room that the puppies were in had a crib, and dog beds. I saw some very, very little puppys, I really wanted them all. The one that we chose, was hiding under the crib. We named him Poncho after the parent's name.…

I looked around and saw a small dirt road that lead away from the beach inland. I decided to take the road, not realizing what was in store for us. As I am cruising down the dirt path with the Mexican music blaring loudly, drowning out the buzz of the motor. All of a sudden the ATV died. As we sit there with the music still playing, looking around at each other with huge eyes, we were able to get it restarted. At this point that should have been our que to turn around and head back, but we continued on. This happened a couple more times but at this point we were miles from the beach. We weren’t too worried yet as we could see our hotel in the far distance. It was now my friends turn to drive and we at this point realized that we could not let up on the gas pedal as it would die again. We turned down another dirt road, this time being a little larger than the last dirt path. We soon found ourselves driving past a property that looked like a compound. There was a tall fence wrapped in flesh tearing barbed wire. There were about 3 or 4 out building and as we got closer there were a group of men standing in the yard waving at us. When out of nowhere two very large, aggressive pit bulls appear. They were running at us with great speed, saliva dripping from their mouths as they were quickly catching us. They were so close that I could have reached out and touched one or they could have easily ripped my arm off. Luckily the ATV did not die on us at this point. With the gas pedal mash we slowly gained distance between these grossly angry…

It was sunday, the end of deer season. After an unsuccessful morning hunt we were left with one more opportunity. We would have to start hiking a couple hours before dusk until dark. We hopped in the truck and drove slowly, our eyes scanning the brush for signs of movement until we reached a rusty yellow gate where only foot traffic was permitted. We continued on foot. Eventually the sun began fading behind the mountain and visibility became lower. My dad told me to wait a fork in the road and he’d be right back. Time came to a standstill, it felt like hours had passed when it was only minutes. I was tempted to yell his name but voices are one of the main things that scare off deer. I was on the verge of panic, anxiety and worry building up…

Before I could answer, I was back at home. I was in my bed wearing my pajamas, and the clock said it was midnight, like nothing had happened at all that night. I wasn’t even hungry anymore.
