One Scary Flight
EBOne scary flight back home
When I was a child I have always been afraid of flights, especially the ones during the night and bad weather. The story I am about to tell consists of one of my childhood memories which I find it hard to forget.
It was a cold windy January night and I was flying back to Tirana from my winter holidays in Paris. The rain was about to start and the wind was very strong which made it not the perfect timing for a flight. Back then I was around 11 years old and I was not quite familiar with flights at that time. I remember climbing the stairs of this very small propeller airplane which could take around 80 people on the board. The seats were very small and tight and as I took a seat next to my mom I kept holding her hand cause that way I could feel less afraid.
The airplane took off some minutes later and all of the sudden a silence fell on the board. Everyone seemed to be so quiet and that made me even more afraid. I kept looking over the window but I could see no lights down to the earth because they were all covered by the big gray clouds. It didn’t take too long and the turbulences started. The captain made an announcement that there would be a lot of turbulences due to the bad weather but there was no need to be alarmed .The air hostesses kept informing us to tighten our seat belts and be calm. On that moment I could hear people starting chatting with quiet voices creating a tensioned situation on the board. My mom kept distracting me and trying to keep my mind off by telling me funny stories because she could feel that I was getting afraid.
After a few minutes the turbulences got much stronger and the airplane was loosing control now and then. A few seconds later the airplane dropped around 100 meters without control ,the lights were turned off and the objects started coming up because of the gravity. I could hear people screaming and I could feel my mom holding me tight. As a child I was terrified. I couldn’t be more afraid

It was unusually cold on this morning of September 11th, 2001, and my alarm had just went off. The odd but needed 5 am. was when I woke up, because my flight was going to leave around 8:30 and I needed to be there on time. The reason I was flying to San Francisco was I was having a family reunion with my dad, my step-mom, and my step-brothers. So, I jumped in the shower quickly with joy and excitement. I hadn't seen my family in forever since I had gotten a job as the assistant of the manager in Ralph Lauren Headquarters. I had just gotten my hair dried as I heard my phone ring. It was dad, making sure that I was on my way. I talked to him for a few minutes and then hung up. I glanced at the clock and realized…

Today's world is slowly developing one global culture. Countries share elements of their cultures with one another, and groups of people grow to understand one another better. The United States of America is a great example of a country whose culture is comprised of bits and pieces of many other cultures. One culture in particular that has had an effect on many Americans is the Chinese culture. China's long history has seen some extremely important inventions emerge, most noticeably gunpowder, paper making, compass, and silk.…

When I was young I always dreamed of flying on a plane. Finally, my dream was coming true, and I was on my way to the USA where I had always known I would end up. This was my first trip on an airplane, and it was also one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I remember everything about my first flight, and it was a lot to remember since it took twenty-seven hours from start to finish. The fight did have one stop in Japan, but that was just to change planes. Once my parents and I got onto the plane and sat down, I started to look at everything around me. I noticed the small white air vents right above my head with little lights next to the vent. It was so great because the controls were right on my armrest. There was a place on the armrest to plug the headphones in in order to listen to music or watch a movie. After everyone got settled into their seats, the airhostess came over the intercom and explained all of the safety procedures. But I am going to tell you; I couldn’t understand what they say, besides staring at their body language. They also showed everyone how to put the seat belts on correctly. After the airhostess was done with…

It is known that, “The first established death penalty laws date as far back as the Eighteenth Century B.C. in the Code of King Hammurabi of Babylon, which codified the death penalty for 25 different crimes” (“Introduction to the Death Penalty”). In the seventh century B.C. the death penalty was a part of the Draconian Code of Athens while the death penalty was the only punishment for any crime. During this time, the death penalty came to the extent of drowning, beating to death, crucifixion, impalement, and being buried alive (“Introduction to the Death Penalty”). In the tenth century, Britain began using hanging as the usual method for punishment. William the Conqueror made it a law in the eleventh century that no executions could be…

We waited anyways. An hour went by and it’s almost our turn to go on the ride. Then right before we were about to get on the ride some girl came by us and was telling us about the drop. She said, “everybody agrees that it’s the best ride here.” She then described the ride to us and we thought it sounded like a fun ride. The girl then left and went with her friends to the other line she was in. We got onto the ride, felt wind blowing in our hair, hands were flying up we were having so much fun. The ride then stopped and we got off of it. The same girl that was telling us about the ride was standing there waiting for us. She decided to go on the ride with us as a group. We walked over to the Drop and the line was empty. We gave the man our tickets and we got on. The man then said “get onto the ride at your own risk.” I began to look around nervously, I was scared but I wasn’t going to back out. I thought to myself “how bad could it actually be brehia?” I knew he was just trying to scare us but was also wondering why the line was empty when there were a few hundred people there. We got on to the ride and we started going up slowly, felt like we were never going to reach the top. We got 100 ft in the air and all of the sudden I felt it shake and rattle, we tilted to the right side. The ride was holding on by a few strings. I was so scared panicking, screaming for help, praying to god that we were all going to be safe. I knew I wasn’t going to live I just knew it. Wishing I could tell my family I love them, hoping for the worst. Knew there was nothing I could do, it was over…

After we were all on the boat we had to go through a beautiful inlet that lead out into the ocean. We were then instructed on how put our life jackets and harnesses on. The instructor decided that I was going to be the first one to go up in the air. I made my way to the front of the boat and sat down on the deck so he could hook the parachute to my harness. Without a warning he let the parachute go and then I was ascending up into the air almost felt like the speed of light! As I was going up, he shook the line to scare me. Finally when I reached 500 feet, I could see the shore line. It was a breath taking view. I could see giant sea turtles and I even saw a shark. I was in the air about 30 minutes. Then I started descending down. When I was close to the boat, he dunked me into the same water where I had just moments earlier seen the shark and the sea turtles.…

I can clearly remember being in the car on a humid day with a little overcast. We were driving in the car when all of a sudden the wind started to pick up and it started raining a bit. Within five minutes, the weather progressed and there was so much wind blowing around the car that we could no longer hear the radio. I can remember when I saw a stop sign spinning in circles like a “merry-go-round” with electrical problems. I do not remember how my mother got us home so quickly and where we were because all around us was a thick gray fog. However, all I can recall from that point on was sitting with my head in my lap in the back…

At first I could not believe my eyes. I thought it must be an illusion. Hence I pinched my hand several times to make sure that I was not dreaming. Confusedly I gazed all around me only to find complete darkness everywhere as far as my eyes could reach. But soon I realized that it was not an illusion as I heard a continuous low frequency sound that could cause serious headache to any living being on earth. It was a bizarre sound which I had never heard before and I had my hair raised. My fingers quickly found themselves inside my ear hole which lightened the pain a bit. At last the flying thing touched the ground and I experienced a mild earthquake. The thing could be ten ton in weight and fifty meter in diameter. The whole place was trembling as it got down on the plain field. However I found myself hiding behind the car all through this time which I must have done out of extreme fear. While I was busy about myself the whole spaceship was covered with smoke all around it. At last when I gazed again at that round heavenly thing I saw dazzling red light coming…
