ABSTRACT
Is Manual Attendance System reliable?
Now a day’s majority of the Colleges and Universities uses manual attendance system in their school, manual attendance system means that a lecturer would give a piece of attendance paper and students would check their name and then will sign on it. At the end of class, lecturer would take back the attendance paper and keep it as a record. This way of getting the attendance would possibly be cheated and take time before the class started. But because of the unstoppable development of technology in our country, and the inconsistent ideas of today’s generation, would still be the manual attendance system reliable?
This question pushes the proponents to developed “Online Attendance Tracker System of La Consolacion College Bacolod Integrated School” this system is designed to record student attendance, monitor daily class attendance and generate report throughout the school year but all this will be done automatically. The system has four (4) user’s A. Administrator, B. Teacher, C. Guidance and D. Student that functions differently. Administrator account holds every movement in the system, it can search student, view reports and other important function in the system. Teacher account is use to check the students that is enrolled in his class and print reports. Guidance account is use for searching student and student’s logs for reference purposes. Student account is use for the student to search his/her class logs and status in a subject that he/she is enrolled. The user name and password for the students account is given to the student during the enrolment.
Moreover the goal of this study is to minimize or completely avoid errors that took place in manual attendance system. Using the automated attendance system will help La Consolacion College Bacolod in terms of checking attendance of their students and other factors attaches on it.
