Online Classes vs. Traditional Classes Technology and education has given students many choices in how they obtain their higher education either by taking online classes or traditional classes, yet they both offer the same purpose, they have significant differences. It is a well-known fact that a continued education is a necessity for success in our fast-paced world. Each student learns differently and must really be in touch with his or her learning styles to make the best decision before possibly wasting money. Both online courses and traditional courses require instruction from a teachers either from web or on-campus, and have similar method of assessments. Though, they differ from one another in terms of flexibility, discipline, and social interactions. One major component to think about is the amount of time you have every day to work on your degree by either going to school full-time or part-time. A benefit in taking an online course is that they offer flexibility to the student, which is a great option for those who have time committed with family or work. Log into your online course at a time that’s convenient or turn in assignments before due dates and possibly finish the class sooner than you would taking a traditional class, opposed to attending a lecture or test at a specific time. Someone with a more time on their schedule would have a better option in my opinion to attend on-campus courses, with the option to either have day or evening classes. In a traditional course, multiple students gather to learn in a specific time and place to attend lectures, independent study groups and interact with their instructor after class or during office hours. Another thing to think about is the structure you may need to be a successful student. Taking an online class doesn’t require much structure other than due dates or exams and maybe finals that you may have to attend in person on-campus, so without a plan or
