A Proposed Online Enrollment System for Arellano University – Jose Abad Santos Campus

I.Background of the Study
In these days, other colleges and universities are already implementing Online Enrollment System for the ease and convenience of the students. However, in Arellano University – Jose Abad Santos Campus, that is not the case. The students still undergo in manual enrollment procedure which is very inconvenient and hassle on the part of the students and of the enrollment staffs as well.
Students suffered from the inconvenience of waiting in a long line for a period of time in order to complete the enrollment. First, they need to arrange their class schedules; they also need to have the signatures of the authorized representative of the different offices required in the form. Students were consuming a lot of time in doing such. Since the students are manually filling-up the official documents of the school, data redundancy has a great possibility in causing further complexity in the enrollment process.
From the dean’s office, the students will proceed to Function Room for preliminary encoding of their class schedules then now will precede to Bursar’s Office for the assessment and payment of their fees. Back in the Function Room with the use of their receipts, it serves as a proof that they had already paid their fees and can now claim their printed class schedules. The enrollment itself can be considered as a problem for the students. From evaluation to validation, it is a long process, and students have to go back and forth in different offices (Dean’s offices, Bursar’s Office, Function Room) to complete the enrollment procedure. It can be tiring and such a waste of effort for them
With the online enrollment system, a centralized processing type of enrollment; it is run through a central processing unit in different terminals, when they have one server and a uniform data processing.
