Neal Miller lived from the years 1909 to 2002, outliving his associate John Dollard, who was born in the year 1990 and died in 1980. According to Rolnick and Rickles (2010), the two psychologists dedicated much of their partnered professional time and efforts towards the integration of social learning theories with psychoanalysis. The system that we analyzed is all-manual system, even the borrowing and returning of books is needed to be listed manually. We thought that they cannot really track the books that are borrowed because they just list their names and section when borrowing. The librarian is working alone so it takes time to finish all her tasks; sometimes she cannot handle to give the books that are behind the counter that are needed to be borrowed so she lets the student to take it. The books does not have a bar code for security in returning or borrowing, the only key to identify the book is the number written on the bottom or top of the book. The librarian check if the returned books are match to the details written on the paper by the student, which includes the number of the book, that’s the only bases of the librarian if the book is returned by the proper person. On the other hand, if the book does not returned in the exact time or date, the only way that the librarian does, so the student will be cleared, is she will be assigning the student to a work like cleaning the library, act like a book keeper, etc. In other cases like if the book was lost, the student must replace the lost book. There is a difference between borrowing and returning a textbook with a reference book. The student can borrow the textbook until the end of the school year same with the employee, the only difference is the student will write the information in a piece of paper, while the employee have their own folders or records that are stored in a cabinet, all their records are written there including the date and time when the books are returned. The faculty is allowed to borrow reference books until the end of the school year, while students are allowed just for one day. The transactions are very traditional, it is hard to monitor and handle the big number of students borrowing and returning books at the same time. There is a computer in the library which the…

Abstract: The rise of technology is spreading in the recent years. In the field of education where students and teachers are involved, they are now finding information through the Internet. However, they still do not forget what the essence of a library is: a collection of books and non-books for researching and retrieval needs. Furthermore, the library is now coping up with the technology today, and this includes creating an automated library system for the easiness of the operations of the library. In line with this, the proposed study problematizes how would an automated library system would be beneficial to the Navotas City Library. The methods include the designing of the data flow, the existing and proposed systems; and most of all, the creating of an actual system using Microsoft Access. The proposal argues that it would greatly save time and effort about recording of logged members, borrowed and returned books. It would also reduce errors to the filing of books, and most of all, it will reduce costs of having bulky information because all of the general functions of a library is in the scope of the proposed study.…
