1.0 INTRODUCTION Information System (IS) is a combination of hardware, software, infrastructure and trained personnel organized to facilitate planning, control, coordination, and decision making in an organization. It also an integrated set of components for collecting, storing, and processing data and for delivering information, knowledge, and digital products. Business firms and other organizations rely on information systems to carry out and manage their operations, interact with their customers and suppliers, and complete in the marketplace. For instance, corporations use information systems to reach their potential customers with targeted messages over the Web to process financial accounts, and to manage their human resources. Governments deploy information systems to provide services cost-effectively to citizens. Transaction Processing System or Transaction Processing Monitor (TPS) is a set of information which processes the data transaction in database system that monitors transaction in database system that monitors transaction programs (a special kind of program). Transaction Processing is not limited to application programs. It is a type of information system. It collects, Restores, modifies, and retrieves the transaction of an organization. A transaction is an event that generates or modifies data that is eventually in an information system. Library System is an enterprise resource planning system for a library, used to track items owned, bills paid, and patrons who have borrowed.
