Online Shopping or Traditional Shopping Modern society has given us more options for shopping than we ever had before. Instead of having to get in your car and drive to a store you can now go on the internet and shop at any store that you can drive to and even more. In this paper I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of online shopping to that of traditional shopping. Before the invention of online shopping, you would have to get into your vehicle and drive to the store, find a good parking spot, and walk through a crowded store, trying to find the things you need to buy. Now, in the time it takes to click a mouse you can do all of that and more. Online shopping saves a great amount of time. Online shopping also allows you to shop at any time of the day. Therefore no more waiting for the store to open.
With the way the economy is now and the high price of gas, online shopping saves you money. You don’t have to drive from store to store any more to do price comparisons. Instead, you can just find a price comparison website that will allow you to compare prices of things at different stores. There is also no driving to stores to find they don’t have the product that you need.
If you’re not the kind of person that likes crowds or standing in lines then online shopping is for you. You can shop in the comfort of your own home and you don’t have to deal with walking through an overly crowded store. No standing in long ridiculous lines or people getting in your way to drive you crazy.
There are a few disadvantages to shopping online. If you learn how to work around it and protect yourself and your personal data they are not really disadvantages. With the growth of technology there are things put in place to make sure that shopping online is save and fraud free.
You might say that once you find what you are looking and start ordering, then you

Discounts are offered both online and in store, that makes it easy for the buyer to purchase products at lower prices. The individual, who chooses to buy in-store, has certain shopping hours in order to receive a discount or closeout price. The online customer needs to have a promotional code in order to get the best deals. Online stores also offer free shipping to get the customer to buy online. The customer will save money no matter how they decide to buy because both options offer ways to save money. The downfall with shopping online is the consumer has to wait for the product to arrive and to pay the shipping costs. The customer pays for shipping in the form of filling up his or her gas tank to drive to the store. The shipping cost is about the same if not more than if the individual drove to the store to purchase the product. If consumers discover that the item they have already purchased is offered at a lower price later on they will return it and repurchase it. Two benefits from shopping in-store are getting out of the house and physical activity from walking around a store. Another benefit for shoppers is the instant satisfaction of taking purchased items home instead of waiting for the products to be shipped. Shopping in a store allows people to try on clothes, test out a couch or chair to see if it is comfortable, or watch a television to see how clear the picture is. These are aspects of in-store shopping that people enjoy and are willing to overlook the inconveniences because of them. Whether you prefer to buy online…

One of the greatest advantages to shopping online is the ability for us consumers to shop from the convenience of our home 24-hours a day, seven days a week. There are no crowds to contend with or rude shoppers or sales people when shopping online. The items you are after will almost certainly be in stock, your choice selection will be far greater than if you went shopping the traditional way. In order to find the item you seek ,for the best price via the traditional way of shopping, would be “to walk from shop to shop until you’ve lost the will to live” (Valentine 9/17/2011 BigMoneyWeb.com). Online you just surf your way over to a price comparison site and all the work is done for you. Another great advantage for the online shopper is product reviews, a service which is not provided to the customer at retail stores. Therefore, looking at this from purely a convenient, less harassment and a greater selection of available goods for the best price factor, online shopping is the way to go.…

The Internet has changed consumer shopping style; however, the foundations that cause the common shopping habits have not changed. Online and traditional shopping both have to deal with issues that relate to security, advertisement, and providing a better service through convenience. The security issue comes up for both business sites. Online, people are concerned about revealing their credit card information over the web due to information theft and hacking. When it comes to advertisement; businesses use the Web and Television, so as to reach a large pool of shoppers and target the kind of shoppers they want. Besides advertisement, convenience has always been an added incentive that makes the shopper's experience pleasant. The web offers a greater selection at person's fingertips and no waiting in lines, however; the stores in the mall offers shoppers a chance to view and try the product. Shopping affects consumer choice between competing alternatives, that is, online and traditional shopping. The two mediums of shopping can be compared in terms of shopping experiences, dynamic interaction with customers, and customer behavior.…
