Online Therapy
Online therapy is a growing trend within the United States as well as the rest of the world. Each state has different laws that the online site must abide by for the safety of the client. Each site also has their personal rules that their counselors must follow as well as their clients. The HIPPA laws will also fall under these guidelines that the center will follow when treating patients. Online services must follow the same rules and laws in which a clinic must follow in safety as well as privacy laws. On many sites, you can read their rules as well as see the licenses that the site has within the state it is practicing.
When looking into an online service you must look into their certifications as well as the licensees that the individual has as well as the councilors who work for the particular site. There are certain precautions that need to be taken into effect when choosing a site to use. One of these items to take into effect is that the practitioner has a current and valid license in the state that the individual is in as well as understanding the fee that you will pay to receive services. The site must a have methods to ensure the safety of the clients personal information as well as the means that the individual will be communicating with the client. The client must understand the risks as well as the benefits involved with doing therapy online as well as making the informed choice in the therapy or counseling provided.
One issue that online services may have is a risk of being hacked by an individual. The loss of personal information of could be departmental to the organization as well as the individuals whose information has been stolen. The other risk for online therapy is the risk of a fraudulent site that is after the personal information of the client. There is also site who are just after money these sites do not perform services for the clients
