Venkatachalam Irai Anbu is an IAS officer, writer, columnist, educator and motivator.[1] He has written over 30 books in both Tamil and English.[2][3]

Education
* B.Sc (agriculture),M. A (English) M. A (Labor Management), M. Sc (Psychology), M.Sc (Sanskrit), M B A., Hindi (Praveen) and Ph.D (Business Administration). He is pursuing his second Ph.D in Comparative Literature (parallels in the works of Thiruvalluvar and Shakespeare)[4]
Career
After completing his B.Sc in Agriculture in 1984, he started his career as Agricultural Officer. In his first civil services examination he got Indian Revenue Service and trained as Income tax Assistant Commissioner.[4] In 1985 civil services examination and he got 15th rank in all India level and first place in Tamil Nadu.[4] After his training in Uttarakhand Academy of Administration he became sub collector in 1990.[5] He was the District collector of Kancheepuram District (1997-1999).[5] He had previously worked as Principal Secretary to the Government for Tamil Nadu Environment and Forests Department, Tamil Nadu Tourism and Culture department & Chairman of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation. He is currently the Principal Secretary to the Government (Training) of the Tamil Nadu state 's Personnel and Administrative Reforms department.[6]
