“The Youth of a Nation are the trustees of posterity” said by Benjamin Disraeli. It is a fact that the stronger the youth, the more developed the nation is. The role of the youth in the nation-building occupies the central place. The countries which utilize their youth in as right direction are more developed. The energy and brightness of minds of youth act as torch-bearer for a nation. On the contrary, the countries which fail to realize the importance of the youth lag behind in every department of life.
Youth is the spring of life. It is the age of discovery and dreams. They have the power to transform the nation into a better place. They also have the ability to lead their fellow citizens into the right direction. Youths are fighters. It has rightly said by Herbert Hoover, “Older men declare war. But it is youth that must fight and die.” They fight for an identity in society, equality, unemployment, exploitation, poverty and other problems which the world faces today. All of them hopes for a world full of opportunities, so great minds can conquer them and become better individuals. They need good morals and values to handle conflicts in a positive way.
Education is the most powerful weapon of the youth. Youths seems to have the ability to face any challenges and problems. They have a positive influence on their fellow young people. They are able to teach them the positive things in life. Sholem Asch said, “Youth has the resilience to absorb disaster and weave it into the pattern of its life, no matter how anguishing the thorn that penetrates its flesh.” The ones whom are destroying their future, they tend to listen to their fellow youths. They will make them understand the importance of a good education. The wise youths that we have out there should be taken into consideration. Some of them, though educated are unemployed. They should be given an opportunity to expose their intelligence to the world and make themselves into someone. Some organizations and other firm should assist the youths; so they can make our land a great and educated one. They will make a huge difference in society and the entire world.
Reasons of the backwardness of youth of Pakistan are that they lack proper patronage. Developed countries are totally aware of the worth of theirs. They consider their youth as an asset. It is rightly said Johann Wolfgang, “The destiny of any nation, at any given time, depends on the opinions of its young ones under five and twenty.” Most important, these countries cater to the needs of their youth and provide them education, employment, recreational activities etc. such healthy and competitive environment prepare the youth to lead the country through thick and thin. If youth is not in the right direction and is unconcerned about the future of the nation, it will become a burden for the nation. Consequently, it will not play any productive role.
The countries where the youth are agile and pay their proper contributions towards their nation are more developed. The entire success of a nation depends on the youth. It is rightly said by Johann Wolfgang, “Everyone believes in his youth that the world really began with him, and that all merely exist for his sake.” It is the duty of the government to provide the youth with ample opportunities to play their role in an effective manner. Parents also have a major responsibility to fulfill. They must induce patriotic feelings in their young ones. The youth fraught with patriotism would lead the nation to the front.
Despite constituting a major chunk of our population, our youth are lagging behind in every field. They have a major role to play in country’s progress but due to government’s negligence they are facing many new challenges in today’s society. They have been afflicted by an identity crisis, lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem, a sense of hopelessness and confusion and ambiguity concerning about moral issues and future. It is said by Friedrich Nietzsche, “The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.” They have been trapped in a culture marked by guns, violence and drugs. All this has resulted in an unstable economy, a shattered confidence of foreign investors, lawlessness and a break-up of the social fabric.
In conclusion, the role of the youth in the nation building is crucial. They are problem solvers, have a positive influence on other young people and the nation, and are extremely ambitious. They have the ability to create an identity for themselves and move the nation forward. However, they will not be able to do this without the support of their Government and fellow youths. So the youths can make their beautiful land flourish and shine in success.

Young adults depend from a well-educational system in order to become community leaders of and not slaves from a corrupt educational system. Therefore, school should help and develop young adults’ ideas about reality of life by giving to them more knowledge about the world that is around them. As Gatto relates, “We could encourage the best qualities of youthfulness- curiosity, adventure, resilience, the capacity for surprising insight” (34). People can create different types of leadership that can govern and accomplish the necessities of a population. In addition, schools should have three goals in order to educate juveniles. First, make good people. Second, make good citizens. Third, make each person his or her personal best. (Gatto 36). These goals are important to create better generations because schools are becoming factories that usually decide who is going to be the next leadership and who is going to be another employee and consumer. Therefore, the educational system should be arranged in a way that helps to achieve the individuals’ goals for his or her…
