Some people use marijuana for health purposes, some just use it to get really high. Smoking marijuana isn’t as bad as it seems to others. Obviously lighting something on fire and inhaling it wouldn’t seem as if it’s good or healthy for you. That’s why people get the wrong impression. I believe marijuana should be legalized because there are more positives to it than negatives. Marijuana can help people medically and help the economy. Ironically other substances that are legal that’s killing everybody is legal but the one thing that seems to cure people is illegal.

Marijuana has more benefits than negatives. It has been proven to kill cancer cells, treat bipolar illness, help with sleep and help chronic diseases. Marijuana can cure more than kill. Marijuana stops the reproduction of cancer cells from starting in the first place. It calms down people or makes them want to do more. Medically, its unbelievable how useful marijuana can be. Marijuana can save lives, save many lives and could’ve saved millions of lives.

Many other stress relievers people use to get high are legal and not much better than marijuana.Alcohol leads to death and many other harmful diseases. Tobacco causes diseases, cancer and can lead to death. Above all there is no proven evidence of somebody dying or overdosing specifically because of the effects of marijuana. 2 of my relatives died of drinking alcohol for a long period of time. I feel as if they had been smoking marijuana things could have been different. Marijuana does cause some throat soreness but has never led to one death. Tobacco kills 1200 people a day in the U.S. Alcohol does major damage to your brain as does marijuana but yet alcohol is legal. Similar restrictions should be made to marijuana as alcohol. There should be a legal age to smoke it and not being able to use it and drive. Adding restrictions will put some control on it and keep people safe.

There is no solid reason for marijuana to be illegal. The risks and dangers of taking it are about the same as the risks of drinking alcohol of smoking tobacco, both which are legal for adults. Furthermore, making it illegal is ineffective at stopping minors from taking the drug, and makes the drug more dangerous because it cannot be regulated. Legal marijuana would be less dangerous because it would have to conform to safety standards, and have warnings to keep people informed, like cigarettes do. If society can change their views on alcohol, they can change their views on marijuana.…

What many people do not understand about marijuana is that it is a safe drug and not all drugs are bad drugs. “Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose.” (NORML, 2015). Marijuana comes in third behind alcohol and tobacco as the most popular recreational drugs. There has never been a death due to marijuana due to the fact that is is nearly impossible to overdose and it is “nontoxic”. It is very confusing to many people as to why this drug is illegal when looking at how safe it is compared to things like alcohol and tobacco…

Legalizing marijuana could help the world out in some many different ways, for example, the crime rate, the reason I say crime rate there has never been a crime committed while being stoned or hazed so that means less crime would be committed, and also the money the countries could make from selling marijuana. However there are also some bad effects of legalizing marijuana, for example, marijuana contains more cancer causing substances than tobacco smoke. Not only could drug harm you physically also use of the drug heavily could cause major brain damage also I learn from my Biology Mark Vitrone and I quote “Marijuana changes the structure of sperm cells, deforming them. Thus even small amounts of marijuana can cause temporary sterility in men. Marijuana use can upset a woman’s menstrual cycle.”(Vitrone 1) Also their more than the few things I just informed you about, but also short term effects could be caused for example the user feels sleepy or depressed, increase in the user heartbeat, and the user anxiety kicks in. For the long term effects it could mess up your growth, your immune system, personality and mood changes and lack of motivation. Also the final bad effects of legalizing marijuana being addicted to the drug not begin able to live without the drug having to smoke a little bit every day the bad effects of using this drug would you want to live like this for the rest of your life you decide. Now where there a bad side thing their also a good side to legalizing marijuana (AKA Mary Jane or Cush).…

Marijuana has been illegal since 1937. The Marijuana Tax Act, enforced because people believe men of color would solicit sex from white women while under the influence of marijuana. According to multiple tests and the statistics more people have died from cigarettes and alcohol. Marijuana should be legal due to the shear fact that it is safer than alcohol and cigarettes. Marijuana to this day, after 79 years, in some places is still illegal and believed to be more dangerous than cigarettes. This myth is 100% false. About 6 million people die every year from smoking cigarettes including second hand smoke. Statistics show that by 2030 the annual death rate will be 8 million. compare this to virtually nobody dying from a direct cause of Marijuana smoking the numbers are gradually in favor of Marijuana being safer. In fact it takes a consumption of 15 pounds of Marijuana in 15 minutes to “overdose”, which still may not even be fatal. In the film Super High Me,…
