Cell Phones are a Big YES
Technology, such as cell phones, has a huge role in the lives of everyone today. Cell phones can be used for many different things, and they can be a very helpful gadget. Over the years, many have debated over whether or not cell phone usage on school premises is useful.
Cell phones can be extremely advantageous, even at school. Cell phones should be allowed on school premises, for things such as, emergencies, convenience, calculators and even tracking devices, but not for recreational purposes. Cell phones can be extremely helpful during emergencies. In case of an emergency at school, it would be easy to just pull out the device and dial 911. A school phone may not be in reach, so it would always be safe to have a backup. A good backup could be a personal cellular device. Yes, maybe iPads can do this too, but calling is not a possibility on an iPad. There is always that rare case where a student feels very sick and their teacher will not let them leave.
Well, here is a solution. The student could take out his/her phone and just call his or her parents on speed dial. This is a very quick and efficient way to solve this situation, as well as many other situations. Over the past few years, there have been many cases of intruders coming into schools and harming students. If this were to happen, they would not let students or teachers call anyone,
but texting could be a sneaky alternative. Cell phones can be quite the useful tools, even in school situations; they can also be very convenient. One of the many reasons cell phones are used is because of their convenience. A number of things can be done on a cell phone, especially on a "smartphone." If teachers wanted to send an email regarding the class, the homework, upcoming tests or etcetera, students could pull out their handheld device and have their email right in front of them. What if
