If imperialism is used to move toward globalization I believe that it is an evil but if it used to play the role of a police man it can be justified. Britain for example used it to increase their personal welfare, an excellent strategy on their part but not for others exspecially those in Africa. Although if they wouldnt have had as much competetion with country such as France and other european countrys may have slowy moved toward globilization and today they just might have been in control of 3/4 of the world. Another reason too much territory control is a negitve is because it makes it hard for the leader of the dominate country to control all of their land and the people living in that land. Because of this difficulty countrys have been know to resort to abuse and unfair treatment of the newly aquired lands inhabitants, just as Britain did with India. They did this just to intimidate the poeple and keep them under their control.
A great use of imperialism I think is using it to set up influental areas to increase trade. I believe we should have followed along with the actions of Britain when they set up a sphere of influence in China. Other good use is use it to police and to protect your own boarders. For example Hawyi. Hawyi was an excellent imperialistic move on the United states part. It set up a great location and harbors for protection of the western coast. Moving into Cuba was a neccisary police like move to possibly protect the main land from missle attacks.
I think a excellent strategic move but not nessisary if the world were not the way that it is and had guarented peace would be to set up key locations around the world in order to be able to insert troops faster and more effiecent. This would allow to a country protect it self faster and to possibly dictate the area.
If I were a leader of a country today I would try using my powers much like the United State however I would increase boarder patrol and not allow any more non born united states citizens to enter or to become citizens. I would never have gone into Iraq and would remove all my miltary from peace keeping operations. I would only interveine if for example if the middle east refused to sell its oil or if i was threatend by another country. I would end all my miltary treatys and alliances and only have trade alliances. I believe that if I stayed out of other countrys problems they would stay out of mine. My miltary cost would greatly decrease and I would become a richer country because I would be trying to police and protect everything. These Ideas i dont believe these ideas are right ethically, but the ones I would think make a strong country thats self centered and greedy.

We can also conclude that from Imperialism there comes rivalry between each other and other countries. When two nations or countries try to gain something that they both need or want, they keep in mind that only one of them can have it, and when the time comes where one of the countries or nations gets to the place first, the other country harbors a resentment towards the other place, even if the nations were alliances before. From many sources, they stated that the nations are like wolves, where they take everything they need and even more, and once they have everything they need, they start wanting more and more, and from that greediness we can compare that to the nations that use Imperialism. Once they find something that can be taken, they grasp it without any hesitation, and they only look for their benefit and not the result of the other nation being taken. Only caring about their nations would spike resentment and cause conflict.…

Imperialism is a policy. Based on this policy, a country uses diplomacy and military forces to expand its power and influence across the world. This will eventually result in becoming a superpower. When it comes to imperialism, America has a lot to say because it sure was a great imperialist between 1867-1917. Although some may believe it would be the cause of unnecessary wars, some wars are simply unavoidable, so it will be wiser to make preparations for these wars, instead of trying to delay them by showing weakness to other nations and giving up on these islands. Imperialism means to have an unequal human and territorial relationship, usually in the form of an empire, based on ideas of superiority and practices of dominance, and involving the extension of authority and control of one state or people over another. While the concept of imperialism did accomplish many things it still had its down falls. One thing the concept of imperialism accomplished was the building of The Panama Canal. This was a good thing because it provided a shortcut between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans which was good for exchanging goods. This was a bad thing because America still went and built The Panama Canal even though the Spanish did want them to. At the turn of the 19th century imperialism was not a proper and legitimate policy for the United States because it was politically, military and socially problematic.…

Imperialism is the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, new imperialism was spreading all over and was a progressive force for both the oppressors and the oppressed when it came to stereotypes and economic success. However, it made the oppressors spread their culture and achievements while the oppressed learned from the Europeans and were continuously put down with the whites thinking it was their job to make them civilized.…

I do not think that imperialism is beneficial to China. Firstly, Britain forced China to consent to opium, as payment for their goods because gold and silver were rare. Though, when China refused, it triggered the first Opium War. Then, when Britain conquered the war, China ended up using the opium as payment anyways. The opium eventually caused the Chinese people to become addicted, and the addiction became an epidemic. This shows that imperialism caused terrible wars, drug addictions, and even rebellion. Simply, imperialism wasn’t helpful at…

Imperialism was beneficial to our humanity. Today, we see strong countries that were once imperialized topping our GDP rankings. Imperialism should not be permanent. After witnessing many countries in Latin America and Africa break away from their European colonizers, I believe that imperialism should secede when a strong national government can be established. Imperialism has awakened many foreign lands and it has benefited them doing to in so many ways. While parts of imperialism were unspeakable, it has built our human race and has benefitted…

From: Imperialism and World Politics, Parker T. Moore, 1926 To begin with, there are the exporters and manufacturers of certain goods used in the colonies. The makers of cotton and iron goods have been very much interested in imperialism. Their business interests demand that colonial markets should be opened and developed and that foreign competitors should be shut out. Such aims require political control and imperialism. Finally, the most powerful of all business groups are the bankers. Banks make loans to colonies and backward countries for building railways and steamship lines. They also make loans to colonial plantation owners, importers, and exporters. The imperialist business interests have powerful allies.…
