Opportunities: Moving To Arizona
Opportunities. Lifestyle. Location. These are all important factors for me to consider as I think about where I want to live after I graduate college. Although Chicago and Hawaii both have advantages, I should move to Arizona instead.
Due to its beauty and bright lights, people are drawn to Chicago for many reasons. Chicago, also known as the “city that never sleeps” is home to many shops, restaurants, clubs and bars (The Guide to Moving). Chicago is so diverse that it offers many different types of food. Chicago not only is famous for their pizza, but they have famous Italian beef sandwiches, pierogi, and sushi (“Moving to Chicago”).Pequod’s, Lou Malnati’s, and The Art of Pizza are Chicago’s top three best pizzerias according to Gebert.

Kailua- is one of Hawaii’s “best city for adventurers” according to Shute. Oahu is known as “The Gathering Place” and the “state’s most populated island” (Discover Hawaii). Located in Kailua is “some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, the town is also close to great hiking, and has a charming, old town feel” (Shute). This town sounds like the perfect place for me because of its popular beaches and hiking. Not only that, but it’s an easy way to get a sense of adventure because I’m experiencing island life, yet still feeling at home due to its “old town feel”. “With low crime rates and a booming housing market, Kailua is a perfect place to fuel my sense of adventure” (Shute). Low crime rates and a booming house market are important factors to consider when moving.
Another reason I want to live in Hawaii is because everything is much calmer. Living in Hawaii consists of a “laid-back lifestyle” (Lovic). Life in Hawaii is peaceful. Islands function slower than any other place to live because they are “far away from many distractions” (“Pros and Cons”). Being far from distractions is calming because the “busy” lifestyle in Chicago is completely the opposite of the “laid back lifestyle” in

There are many different things you need to access at when picking a place to live, but the most important thing you need to access is yourself. You need to see where you are at in your life and make sure that your making a wise decision. The first thing you need to look at is your job. You need to make sure that you like your job and that you are going to be working in the same location for the next few years. You also need to make sure you have job security that way you will be able to keep up with your payments. Another thing people need to consider is their personal lives. Your age and relationship status are major factors that need to be considered when deciding where you live. For example a single 26 year old probably doesn’t need to live in a big house with three bathrooms; but a married 26 year old with a baby on the way does. You also need to look at the housing market and decide whether or not it is a good time to purchase a home. You don’t want to buy a house that is at its peak-selling price, because if you ever decide to move you will probably lose money in the sale.…

During the Fall months, don’t allow the monsoons to lessen the beauty of this state because in reality, it is one of a very few natural disasters that occur in Arizona and has a survival rate of 99%. In addition, Arizona experiences some of the most beautiful winters during the months of November through March and once in a while mother nature will display her beauty by snowing in places one would never expect. If appreciated, the cold air mixed with the rays of sun can offer breath taking views of the endless blue skies above our desert landscapes or deep within the Grand Canyon groves. Opposite of this are Hawaii’s green, plush, fertile mountains and plains but deep beneath that beauty also lie’s constant rain, humidity and unpredictable hurricanes, floods and tsunami that offer a lower 94% survival rate. Hawaii averages approximately seventy to eighty-five degrees’ year around with a constant humidity level of a torturous 80%. Summers have been known to reach 90% humidity which makes for a very uncomfortable day, especially considering there are no air-conditioned homes in Hawaii. Furthermore, insects thrive on humidity throughout Hawaii and on any given day you may encounter a centipede, cane spider, cockroaches and many other bugs that are unpleasant. As if that isn’t enough, when the tides are high due to changes in the weather pattern’s jelly fish become the enemy in the ocean and if encountered it can be detrimental to human health and safety. Whether anyone enjoys the dry land or the waters in either state, I still believe Arizona is the safer place to live. In conclusion, although Hawaii is paradise and a splendid place to visit, the cost of living, the level of education and whether conditions should have anyone reconsidering a move to Hawaii any time soon. One should take advantage of the outstanding education offered to our…

Hawaii attracts many tourists per year because of its history, geography, and entertainment. This state is known for its many islands, volcanoes, and climate as well. When I think about Hawaii all I imagine is standing on the beach overlooking the ocean getting hit with the nice warm breeze hearing laughter and seeing smiles. Since “Hawaii is one of the most isolated places on Earth” it makes vacationing there completely stress and worry free, because you are far away from home and nothing on your mind but having a great vacation (Neri p.4).…

    Arizona Immigration

Immigration in the United States is a divided issue. Since the formation of this country people have fought for their way of life and civil rights. Whether it was for life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness that the rebels fought the British for, or the marchers and protesters of the Civil Rights Movement that fought against the laws of segregation. Arizona’s immigration laws are an insult to America’s values, way of life, and civil rights. Those same values that allow us to be free, allow us to pursue happiness, and keep us from being persecuted become challenged when laws like SB 1070 are enacted. Arizona’s immigration law SB 1070 allows any law enforcement official to stop or arrest anyone that is under “reasonable suspicion” of being in the country illegally. Laws like this can have catastrophic impacts on people and the economy as a whole. People scared to even go out and have a meal at a restaurant because of the fear of being stopped by police to prove their status and small business owners losing their livelihood because of it. From civil rights to the economy everyone feels the brunt of this.…

Born in Honolulu ,Hawaii on the island of Oahu, I lived there for two and a half years. At almost three years old I moved to a small town in the San Joaquin Valley; Hanford, California. I've grown up in a nice home in a well located area in Hanford. But growing up in Hanford I know only what I have seen here and learned about from inside the community. I didn't know much about Hawaii besides being born there and that my grandparents live there. But years later in the summer of 2014, I took a trip to back to the islands of Hawaii.…

In conclusion, Arizona is just a wonderful place to visit and I hope that I can go back soon. After all I have said, I just think that Arizona is by far the best place that I have ever been. The reasons for my love of Arizona are that it has amazing scenery, plenty of great activities to do, and that the wildlife is intriguing. The best memory I have from Arizona is whenever my grandfather took my siblings and I out to eat and a lot of people from the restaurant asked us about our accent and how different the climate was from…

The city of Chicago is an amazing place for many tourists to come to any time of the year. “Nearly forty million people visit Chicago annually. Along with forty million tourists, Chicago has nearly three million residents who inhabit the streets and sidewalks every morning” (cityofchicago.org, p. 1). Street performers, salespeople, and pedestrians add many distractions to the already unknown area. Also, the streets and mirroring shops on every block cause much confusion to a first time tourist of the city. “Chicago has more than 7,300 restaurants, 552 parks, and 26 miles of lakefront” (cityofchicago.org, p.1). The city of Chicago is an amazing place to visit until one gets lost in the much larger city than Greensburg.…
