The metaphor, “When one door closes, another opens” is a famous quote by Alexander Graham Bell. When one door closes, this finishes the chapter of one aspect of their life. When another door opens, becomes an opportunity to start something new. An alternative metaphor that I’ve chosen is “If an opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door” presents as an opportunity waiting to happen. But one must work hard for the opportunity and should not expect the reward to happen easily. There are going to be days when we are caught up in the moment and forget the opportunity is standing right in front of us. The two metaphors that I’ve chosen shows the audience how the metaphors create a connection of balancing life when challenges occur.
Life can be a challenge, struggle, and setback; However, we do not realize there are many opportunities waiting to strike and when it happens, grab onto it. When one door closes, another opens presents life will always have second chances. When an employee is recently laid off from work. The person may find a new better job. When a student did not get accepted from the college of his or her first choice. The student will still be accepted by other colleges. When an infertile woman who is trying, receives the news she is carrying twins. She will have two bundles of joy to celebrate. These are just a few example how even though the door may have been close, another door opens to start a new chapter.
If the opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door represents as a gateway to new adventures in life, but one must work hard for the opportunity. When an employee has just been recently hired, the employee must work hard to receive a promotion. When a student wants to be place on the dean’s list., the student must work hard to maintain a high G.P.A. When an expectant mother is carrying multiples, the expectant mother must be careful of her health and diet. The metaphor I’ve presented today shows the audience how in life
