treated differently than they are treated here in the United States. In a few places women are treated better than here in the States, but it is undeniable that most places treat them worse. To learn to understand how others treat women according to their religion, their childhood environment, and their political views is something best fitted to be viewed through a cultural lens. A political lens may prove beneficial as well, if deciding to get more in depth with the discrimination against women in political positions. An economic lens or a geographic lens would not come as handy as the other two, but may be helpful in distinguishing and analysing minor details.
Women and girls are slowly getting more and more justice for what has been done to them over the thousands of years of oppression.
Blatant acts of sexism are being called out more and more, women being portrayed in the media are slowly being seen as equal to men, and most importantly, women are getting the power that has been withheld from them for so long. Google recently released a statement saying the emojis that they could alter were going to be altered for the better. Women would be the added faces to positions and jobs such as farmers, doctors, graduates, teachers, and many more (Bleuel). When it comes to women and being given political power, the chances are increasing. In the past 20 years, the average number of women in parliament has doubled (Khan). This progress is exponential, and will only benefit us humans within
