Oprah says the ultimate way to achieve personal growth is to completely understand yourself and find roots to problems in order to learn from them and solve them. While the Oprah show is viewed as therapy by many, it is also viewed by some as a complete religion. It is through her encouragement of spirituality and transformation that she is able to viewed this way. While helping people and setting up her own charity, Oprah has also accumulated a vast net worth and is a very successful businesswoman. She has managed to infiltrate each of the main channels of communication, and has made influential changes to America and other parts of the world. She manages to break down walls and make private into public. Oprah often speaks openly on discussions that may be sensitive to some, in order to open the topic up to millions and desensitize it.
Bottom line is when Oprah talks… people listen. She has rocketed items into popularity just by mentioning them on her show, such as the eco bag. She has boycotted products such as beef because of the mad cow crisis and poor slaughterhouse conditions. People followed suit and she was hit with an 11 million dollar lawsuit(Caroline, 2011). She works to change the world, and the world changes as she works.
Oprah’s talk show has come to an end after 25 years but she managed to blow boundaries
