After seven years she was hired on A.M. Chicago and worked there for almost six months before it was renamed The Oprah Winfrey Show. She mostly talked about social issues, self-improvement, and spirituality. She also interviewed celebrities. Oprah's role in the movie The Color Purple caused her show to become very popular. Her show caused her to be named Woman of Achievement by the National Organization of Women.
