I am convinced that the person I am currently is founded by what I have encountered in life so far. With that being said, I presume that I would have a different personality if it were not for my experiences …show more content…
with life, my outlook on existence would contradict my current outlook. At each occurrence, I would have changed my opinion based on what I know. A significant change in my beliefs started with my father's death. I would expect everything to fall straight into my hands just upon a question. It was a wake up call that told me life is not definite and clear, which lead me into a person who now had their own views on each situation. I have also learned to not take people for granted, which has sculpted me to become more kind and generous to people. As I am learning from my experiences, I am also learning from others as well.
Another way of development is through another's experience.
When someone is able to share their story and feelings, another person is able to learn from them and develop as if it was their own experience. This is illustrated by Oprah Winfrey. For instance, Winfrey has gone through many struggles, and by sharing those struggles Winfrey has taught many people a new reality and developed herself into who she is today. Winfrey's success permits her to share her story and mentor people into who they become. A great amount of Winfrey success has came due to the rise of social …show more content…
media.
The final journey to development is through a source of media.
With these times, media is unavoidable. As the media grows, many people become aware of stories told through movies and books. The authors and directors are able to create a nonfictional or fictional experience that a human can empathize with. A suitable novel to mention is The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. Within The Glass Castle, Walls reminisces her youthful days and tells a tale about the effect of hope and how people will yearn it without knowing. Specifically, Walls uses a glass castle to represent the faith she has in her dad to change his words. By expressing her powerful idea of hope, Walls is in a position to inspire people and help people achieve their full self and beliefs. Walls' ability enables her distribute her experiences that allows other people to learn from
her.
Overall, a person's personality and beliefs are based on experiences in life; theirs or others.
Futhermore, Experience is gained when an occurrence happens. When an occurrence happens to another person, they are able to share their experience and help other people find their true selves, thus assisting with one's ownership of themselves. To simplify, the ownership of one's self is constructed by their personal experiences with the addition of others as well. Whether experience was gained personally or virtually, there was something to learn from it and interpret it as their own. Once someone has interpret another's experience in their own way, they can have a change in belief similarly like I did.
