Write a paper of no more than 1,050 words in which you explanation of the control limits, including the calculations and data used to determine them. (I expect everyone to use the data that they have collected and create a control chart for your process. I want to see your calculations for the upper and lower control limits as well as the raw data).

Discuss the effect of any seasonal factors using the process performance data collected each week.

Discuss the confidence intervals and their usefulness based on the number of data points.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines. When choosing your major, think about the kind of job you want, but think about the person you are. If you are someone who doesn't want to get up before noon, for example, you might not want to choose a major where the job possibilities require you to work early in the morning.

Control limits are an easy way to find out if something is statistically wrong with a process. There are upper and lower control limits for every process. If the data in the sample falls outside of either of the two limits, this usually means that there is a problem with the process. Control limits help to assure quality ("Ehow: How To Calculate Upper And Lower Control Limits", 2013). If for some reason, any data points were to fall outside of the control limits, we could use statistical process control to analyze the procedures that are used and make improvements as necessary. In order to calculate my control limits, I had to first collect data for each workday in weeks 1-4. Table 1 (see below) shows all of the data that was collected in the past four weeks.…

Successful organizations continuously strive to improve the processes they have in place. Process improvement leads to better quality control, higher efficiencies and lower costs. In order to implement a process improvement plan, it is necessary to collect and analyze data from the process. In this paper, I present an analysis of the metric data collected for the process I identified during week #1. As part of the analysis, the control and confidence limits are calculated, as well as other relevant statistics. With this information, a process improvement plan is developed.…

Process control is a major factor in ensuring that a process is working to its maximum potential. Sometimes process control means that one must conduct research to see how a process improvement can be implemented. Process improvement normally results in adjusting and modifying particular tasks or steps in a process to make them run more efficiently and smoothly. According to Chase, Jacobs, and Aquilliano, it is very important to put metrics in place so that you can determine if improvements are needed for a particular process (Chase, Jacobs, and Aquilliano, 2006). Over the last five weeks, I have observed the task of getting ready for work. After collecting data for analysis, I have enough information to develop a process improvement plan. In this paper, the control limits will be reviewed and any applicable seasonal factors that could impact the historical data will be discussed.…

A time-series data plot is most appropriate for Problem 1 because the data is collected over equal periods at regular intervals for more than one period of time. The data meets the requirement having a Seasonal Component (St) because the pattern of four quarterly periods regularly repeats itself for five years, yet the period is completed within one year, representing a seasonal pattern. The data also has an Irregular Component ( It) because it is not perfectly cyclical and has some unsystematic fluctuations.…

We’ll begin by defining processes development. According to (Chase & Jacobs) process is defined as common manufactured products that describe the necessary essential steps for the design of a product. These methods represent a basic sequence of steps or activities that an organization uses to create or modify a product. Many of these tasks involve more intellectual knowledge than physical activity. Some companies define and follow an accurate and detailed development process, while others may not even be able to describe their processes.…

In chapter 7 we discussed how to make inferences about a population parameter based on a sample statistic. While this can be useful, it has severe limitations. In Chapter 8, we expand our toolbox to include Confidence Intervals. Instead of basing our inference on a single value, a point estimate, a Confidence Interval provides a range of values, an interval, which – at a certain level of confidence (90%, 95%, etc.) – contains the true population parameter. Having a range of values to make inferences about the population provides much more room for accuracy than making an inference off of only one value.…

First, to discuss the confidence interval (CI), one must apprehend the implications of this measure which could be explained as a process of initially taking a random sample from a population and computing a statistic, such as the mean from the data, while assessing the average of the population. Consequently, that measure prompts us to ask a vital question: How well the sample statistic estimates the underlying population value, or it is only relevant to the original specimen? Subsequently, the confidence interval is a measurement which provides a range of values likely to contain the population parameter of interest.("What are confidence intervals?,"n.d.)…
