The Open-Book Management principles are: (Hilcorp website, www.hilcorp.com)
Know & Teach the Rules – Hilcorp educates employees to think of themselves as oil and gas business owners.
Follow the Action & Keep Score – Hilcorp provides daily updates on company performance to all employees.
Provide a Stake in the Outcome – Hilcorp rewards all employees when goals are achieved to inspire them to work like owners.
Hilcorp Energy is committed to the environment and their social responsibility to support the community around the areas they work and live. They instill in their employees this same commitment of giving back to the community in which they live and work in. Upon hiring each employee, Hilcorp Energy gives each new hire $2,500 to donate to a local charity of their choosing and matches the employee donations in subsequent years $1 for $1 up to $2,000.
Hilcorp Energy is very innovative in every aspect of its business. They challenge their employees to think outside the normal criteria. Their philosophy, “Work Like You Own the Company” encourages employees to work as a team to ensure positive results. Employees work as a team developing common goals and remaining focused on the task they are working on. Meeting and achieving goals are rewarded through several reward programs Hilcorp Energy has established.
