For my introductory essay on my favorite constellation, I have chosen the constellation Orion. I choose this constellation due to my natural pull toward this beautiful formation of celestial marks in our sky. Since I was a tiny being in this vast world, I have always looked to three stars for comfort as I was on my own quite a bit growing up. The stars that always gave me the inspiration to go for bigger and better things have been the three bright lights that make up Orion's Belt. I, at the time, had no idea that these stars were part of something bigger and prominent in our galaxy. One of the better know stories of the human era is the Greek mythos of Orion The Hunter, in which he was to be slain by a small scorpion. The story described Orion to have been the best hunter as well as one of the most handsome men in all of Greek mythology due to his demi-god heritage. With these attributes, Orion subsequently grew up to be a bit arrogant in his abilities which led to his boasting to the goddess Artemis and her mother, Leto, that he could slay any beast on Earth. As a challenge, Artemis sent a single scorpion to test his might and in the end, the scorpion dealt our hero with a single sting to take his life.
