On Wednesday September 16th of 2015, I will be going to the Smithsonian National Zoo with a group of my friends. The Zoo was founded in 1889. It is one of the oldest zoos in the world. There are 1800 animals that live in the zoo. One of the most famous spots in the zoo for tourists to see is the Giant Panda exhibit. The giant pandas recently just gave birth to baby pandas. I have only been to the Smithsonian National Zoo once. I went in eighth grade for a school wide field trip. I love seeing animals and going to the zoo. Back where I am from (Delaware) there are not any zoos or big public attractions for young kids and teenagers.…

The UK pet care market was worth £3.6 billion in 2011, and has grown compared to 2010 (£3.3 billion) despite the difficult economic conditions we’ve experienced over the past few years (the market is expected to grow steadily until 1016 when it’s estimated to be worth approximately £3.9 billion). The growth has mainly been driven by increased spend on cat and dog foods (Euromonitor, 2012) and this growth shows that pet owners are trying not to compromise their spending on their pets. Despite growth in the market, PAH should remain aware of the uncertainty within the UK retail market at present as pressure on consumers disposable incomes remains high, thus directors should be prepared for any future…

Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay first opened in the 1950’s. This park is sixteen years older than the Williamsburg location and is known to be a 19th century African park, offering a total of twenty-four attractions. There are eight roller coasters and three water rides located throughout the park. The park is divided into seven different sections, each are named after a different country in Africa. Each attractions name corresponds to the country that the ride is located in. For example, in the Egyptian country, there is a roller coaster named Montu, named after the Egyptian Falcon God of War. They also offer elaborate animal exhibits: Cheetah Run, Serengeti Plain, Myombe Reserve, Edge of Africa, and Curiosity Caverns. This park has expansive acreage for animals, including cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, rhinoceros, ostriches, gorillas, chimpanzees, crocodiles, meerkats, lions, hyenas, hippos, vultures, and lemurs. The Serengeti Plain animal exhibit is the first of its kind to offer animals in a free-roaming environment. The park also includes a nocturnal cavern for animals, such as snakes, bats, lizards, tamarians, and sugar gliders.…

    Virginia Living Museum

The museum I chose to visit for my Cultural Event Report is The Virginia Living Museum. I attended 11/8/2011 with my boyfriend and his daughter. I loved the museum; it had so many different aspects to it and exhibits to see. The two exhibits I was intrigued by were The Virginia’s World of Darkness Gallery and The Virginia’s Underground Valley. The Virginia’s World of Darkness Gallery had a lot of different animals from sharks, which scare me but intrigue me, to moon jellyfish. It intrigued me because I used to go to the beaches around Virginia and would see shark fins and dolphin fins and always wonder about the animals and would love to see them in their habitat. This way you can actually see them and learn about them at the same time. There were other animals there as well like pine voles, flying squirrels, ghost crabs, bats, tree frogs, lobsters, and sting rays. They range from amphibians, aquatic life, mammals, birds, and reptiles. You can see each set of animals in their own habitat. I would definitely suggest everyone visit this museum if they are in the area.…

Bear in mind it is an open zoo, so weather and climate can be one of their threats towards people coming to this attraction, as on a rainy day no one would be willing to be outside in the cold and get wet. However, there are buses that go to the zoo, from Fenny Drayton – Atherstone – Twycross Zoo – Measham, which they have provided a timetable if people have difficulties in getting there. There are neighbouring zoo's around Twycross Zoo but aren't unique as what their performances are.…
