Out Of The Dust Summary

Out of the dust Billie Jo is common to a tractor she is very tough and always does what people tell or ask her to do. In “Out of the dust”the main character is Billie Jo. This book is written by Karen Hensse. Out of the dust is about a girl who goes thorugh hard times. She is very happy and has talent. But at somtimes get really lonely about what is happening in her life time. Bille Jo is always caring fo rthe people around, her keeps hope when time is hard, but sometimes can be really depressed. In the end of the book she says “Hard times aren’t about money or drought or dust. Hard times are about losing spirt and hope and what happens when dreams dry up. Billie Jo is very caring towards her mom and dad. In the story mom need water
bt she can’t get water cause she has burns all over her body. Also Billie Jo’s has to use her burned hands to squeeze the water into moms mouth. “I tried to help her I couldn’t aim the dripping cloth into her mouth I couldn’t squeeze. She is caring because even with her burned hands she still tries to squeeze the water into her mouth. Also she caring because when no matter what the task is or whats happeing she always cares about others. When dad didn’t name bady franklin she stepped up and named him. “I spoke in my fathers slience I told the reverend my brothers name is Franklin”. This quote is caring beause even though no one was foona name the baby she stepped up and named him Franklin. Billie Jo knows not to ever lose hope in life and dreams. Billie Jo has always hoped it rains then one night her hopes get bigger. There where clouds covering the sky and it was stormy. “It almost rained today the clouds hung over the sky”. They haven’t had rain in awhile and everyone was hoping for rain for the crops. She has hope in alot of things but never gives up when things goes the oppsite way. Mom tells Billie Jo and dad that they are having a baby. “Wonder if daddy’ll get a boy this time”. Billie Jo is hoping dad’s dreams will come true and he will get a boy. The events in Billie Jo’s life make her feel really sad and depressed. Mom just had baby franklin but later finds out both of them died. “Placed him in ma’s banaged arms. We buried them together on the rise ma loved”. Billie Jo is depressed because her ma and brother so now she has to live with her dad all by herself. She can be really depresesed like after her ma dies its just her and her dad. She finds to be very lonely in the house. “I don’t know my father anymore he sits across from me e looks like my father, chews like my father but he feels like a stranger. This is depressed because one of the peopel she loves the most fells like a stranger. Finally Billie Jo has many, many unique character traits she is very unique and knows a lot about life she is pleasing and always worried if the people around her are good instead of herself. She is a hard worker and always get the task done when asked. Even though her father wsanted a boy she nevr gave up trying to please him.
