Out, Out By Robert Frost: Poem Analysis

Robert Frost, an American author, wrote “Out, Out” to reflect his New England background and to entertain and teach his readers about life in general. Throughout his life he has been honored and awarded, he has also wrote quite a few poems, and has had more than his share of pain and suffering. Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, California on March 26, 1874. Two years after his father would be diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis and would later die in 1885, his mother would also die at a young age in 1901. In 1885 Frost would attend Dartmouth College but would later drop out and take a number of jobs including: working in a factory and delivering papers. He wrote this poem to entertain and then to teach his readers that even though there is pain and suffering life has to and will go on. Throughout his life he gained many honors and awards. He won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1924, 1931, 1937, and in 1943. He was also named “Poet laureate of Vermont on July 22, 1961 and in the year before congress voted him for a gold medal.
