There were many important concepts Gladwell listed. His book focused on six main points: opportunity, timing, ten-thousand hours, meaningful work and legacy. The two main focuses of his concepts were Opportunity and Legacy. I believe he chose those two because when and where you are affect a situation but how you approach it is the battery charge for the situation. Gladwell describes how when opportunity presents itself you should seize it. After doing so you shouldn’t take it easy because you’ve grasped it but you should work ten times harder and put the hours in to master the objective. You have the chance and opportunity to do that time so why not take advantage of it? Beyond all this it takes a certain type of person to put in such commitment, its the person's upbringing that builds them to be this way. Gladwell specifically describes this theory but I won’t being getting into depth with it. …show more content…
In Part I of the book: Opportunity Gladwell describes how one should develop his/her skills to take charge of their opportunity since they were fortunate enough to get a chance.
It is scarce for someone to get a shot at success from rags to riches, so when opportunity knocks?...Plenty of timing goes into opportunity even when you’re chosen theres a specific reason why. The reason why taking great advantage of your opportunity is important is because once again the American population currently is high so the chance of you achieving success is very small. When working on such a project it must be meaningful to you so you can put in the time needed. For one to succeed they must work hard and continue working hard without no breaks until it’s safe but playing it safe isn’t even an
option. In Part II in book was on Legacy and it mainly focused on one's values. Gladwell mentioned how the actions of generations before us actions could affect our current behavior towards certain situations. If ones family was used to hard work and perseverance than one wouldn’t be out of resolutions for situations that arise. I enjoyed this book because it was a like a guide to success in all types of economy structures. There wasn’t any need for numbers just pure logic. It was the ideas that Gladwell presented that would help his readers grasp how to achieve success. The opportunity was scarce but hard work and motivation comes deep within the person, so if one searched for it and actually tried maybe the opportunity would actually knock?
