Outline For The Movie The Messenger
The Messenger – Markus Zusak
A) The film starts off, introducing Ed Kennedy (the protagonist); your average underage taxi driver who is hopelessly in love with his best friend Audrey. Unfortunately she claims that she cares about Ed too much to begin dating. As Ed and his friend (Marv) are in a bank queue, an unexpected robbery commences. Ed is stated ‘hero’ after he coincidentally halts the robber’s escape. Shortly later, he receives an ace with a list of times and addresses. They symbolise a sequence of tasks that he must accomplish. Throughout the film, he receives more aces – three in fact. The last one contains his address. As Ed makes his way home, he is confronted by the robber from the bank. The robber admits that he’s been sending

Heath Ledger precisely fits this role as his acting skills are profound, based on previous movies including ‘The Dark Knight’. Other benefits include his age; it is relatively close to this character’s age which is a definite plus.

Audrey is debatably the second most important character. She is one of Ed's best friends whom, Ed adores greatly, but, unfortunately does not feel the same. Audrey is always by Ed's side throughout his quest. Elizabeth Reaser suits this character; Audrey is deemed ‘attractive’, some may say Reaser is too. Elizabeth is prominent for Catherine Hardwicke’s ‘Twilight’.

Marv is one of Ed’s ‘best’ friends. He is a typical footy-bloke who enjoys a few beers and a good time playing cards with his best friends. Along with Audrey, Marv assists Ed on his epic quest. A great actor to substitute this character would be Ed Helms; well-known for the greatest U.S. comedy skit series, “The Office” and 2009 movie, ‘The Hangover’. Ed Helms has a convincing lazy appearance, according to Jon Lucas (The Hangover writer). Helms could potentially rack up millions of

The Outsiders gives the reader hints and ideas from the story explaining how we should act and other moral issues. For example, a message the author describes is to stay young and innocent. The Greasers, specifically the younger Greasers, are taught to smoke and kill at a young age. This leads them to do bad things such as going to jail, participating in rumbles, and robbing stores. In other words, bad influence at a young age allows them to do illegal actions. By showing these actions from characters and the negative results, Hinton leads readers to the best idea of civility- trying to prevent the habit of performing crimes and being corrupted. Also, S.E. Hinton sends an important message to people who want to give up. She gives clues throughout the story about the importance of friendship and to not block out your emotions and problems. When Johnny dies, Ponyboy started to give up, emotionally and physically. He keeps on convincing himself that Johnny isn’t dead and also neglects his family, including his gang. S.E. Hinton teaches the readers that just because they’ve been…

Matt Dillion for example, really sold his performance as racist cop who abuses his authority. Dillon does a good job in showing how his character has a self-realization when he is pulling Thadie Newton’s character out of the burning car. She refuses his help because earlier in the movie he sexual harassed her, but Dillon’s character eventually gets her to put that aside and get her out of the fire. Dillion does an excellent job of showing how his character changed in that scene on how he should not abuse his authority on people. Another actor who did a good job was Ryan Phillippe. He played a cop who always tried to do the right thing but ends up killing a man who he thought had a gun but did not. Phillippe did a good job of showing how is character did the wrong thing when he shoots Larenz Tate’s character Peter. These two scenes show how both actors Matt Dillon and Ryan Phillippe sold their performances as a racist cop and a cop who wants to do the right…

They would use their own knowledge and the person would not listen to the group. The competitor would just do what they pleased and not follow the established rules. The team would have lost the competition. This all happened because they did not communicate. The loss communication was a huge part of the breakdown in the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding. I chose him because he demonstrates many characteristics that Captain Torres has. Like Captain Torres, Liev Schreiber is in his forties , he has the appearance of being tough and has a look of authority. Captain Torres is also understanding. He understands that its hard to kill, and he understands when the barber doesn't kill him, even though he had the chance. He would also be considered a risk taker because he knows who the barber is and knows what he can do to him. But still he takes a chance and places himself right into the barbers hands, even though he could be killed right then and there. We could also infer that he is a leader and is intelligent since he is at the rank of captain. I chose Orlando Bloom to play the role of the barber because unlike the captain, the barber is thin, but not weak. He’s also brave. He’d be considered brave by deciding to not kill him. The barber would also be moral. He has the chance to kill Captain Torres, but doesn't because he has morals and knows it’s wrong. He’s honorable because even though he’s a rebel, he doesn't wish to kill, he only see’s himself as a barber not a…
