1. The mass media: - What is the mass media? What are the types of the mass media? The mass media is means of providing information and entertainment such as television, radio, Internet and newspapers. - What are their features? They provide information and entertainment orally, visually
2. Newspapers and their attraction for you
a) Newspapers: - Newspaper is a type of the mass media. It provides information and entertainment through eyes. - The importance of the newspapers: plays a vital role in human affairs + Newspapers have become the main source of information about local and foreign affairs. + Besides, they are easier to carry and they could be read any time. + Further, the permanence of the printed word helps one to refresh one’s memory of certain facts and incidents reported in the past.
b) Their attractions for you - Newspapers are a source of news and information ( reading newspapers is like traveling round the world + As I read about the developments in the various parts of the world, I feel that I am there myself observing the incidents + I also feel that I am having contacts with many leaders and people of the world. + Reading newspapers helps me to acquired a better knowledge of the world.
