ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
First of all, if only one person could be warmly thanked for this particularly enriching experience, it would definitely be Dominique Calmant, Director of Human Resources Services and Staffing IBM EMEA, for having supervised this master thesis, for the time she has spent with us, and for the confidence she placed in our work. We hope we have fully satisfied her high expectations, since that has clearly been our main goal throughout this project. Similarly, we would like to express our grateful thanks to Eloïse VerdéDelisle, Director of Employee Relations IBM France, whose discernment is quite unquestionably high, and who actively participated in making this partnership with IBM EMEA possible. We would also like to thank Alexandra Dudouet, Human Resources Operations Officer IBM France, for her support and her help in the whole process, as well as Mathilde Malta-Bey, for her precious literature research in the Lille III University Library, and Christopher Minnich, for his advice despite his heavy work as a student at the George Washington University Law School. Finally we surely do not want to forget our professors, tutors, and correctors, who have been involved in the whole process of our education, from

This lecture will address basic primate classification. Primates are classified based on their features- primates that share certain features are classified into the same group. There are lots of different ways of classifying animals- using an evolutionary taxonomy (like Linneaus’ family tree) or using cladistics. We are going to stick with the evolutionary taxonomy. There is a chart in your book- on Page 168-169 of your book- I would suggest that you have that open as you read this week’s material. It will make sense, I promise!…

The benefits for US companies are cheaper wages and workers. This allows US companies to function at all hours of the day as well, when someone from India will be on call 24/7 a day. Lower the US Company’s bottom line is always number one here and if they can get the same service in India as they do in US at half the cost, anyone would take that chance. Outsourcing is weakening the nation’s job-creation engine, and leaving thousands of newly unemployed workers here in the United States in search of work. With the number of companies outsourcing jobs continually increasing, it becomes a much larger issue for the U.S. workforce to find a job when so many are being outsourced overseas. Unfortunately this trend is likely to continue to cause serious harm in the United States if it continues to go unmonitored. Foreign and American governments have contributed to the problems caused by outsourcing in a number of ways. Some of the more visible ways are a lack of monitoring and data gathering, ceasing to enforce any pressure or penalties upon companies outsourcing jobs, and U.S. jobs being outsourced due to foreign incentives. These three issues are a large contributing factor to the current problem of outsourcing in the United States and its negative impact on the American workforce.…

Outsourcing is the contracting out of a business process, which an organization may have previously performed internally or has a new need for, to an independent organization from which the process is purchased back as a service. Though the practice of purchasing a business function instead of providing it internally is a common feature of any modern economy, the term outsourcing became popular in America near the turn of the 21st Century. An outsourcing deal may also involve transfer of the employees and assets involved to the outsourcing business partner.…

I will be conducting my essay on gun control/gun rights. I honestly don’t think that hunters need springfield semi-automatic rifle or a semi-automatic rifle similar to an ak-47 with a 30 round clip! If you go on cabelas.com you will see that they are selling guns labelled as self and home defense, but they are semi-automatic shotguns! you could buy a semi-auto gun on the internet to ship to you for a low cost of 300 dollars. A student, mentally ill person or just flat out crazy person can steal a credit card buy a military grade rifle and conduct acts or terrorism. I doubt it takes a military grade rifle to kill a defenseless deer.…

Former U.S. Presidential candidate Ross Perot once warned of the U.S. entry into the North American Free Trade Agreement as "a great sucking sound" as U.S. jobs "run" to Mexico. Many Americans feared that cheap labor in Mexico would cause many Americans to lose their jobs as U.S. companies could find cheaper labor south of the border. In the ten years since the beginning of NAFTA, the U.S. job market has remained strong. The types of jobs may have changed to a certain degree, but the number of jobs has only increased despite the fears of many. Today, many people are worried about the effects of the outsourcing of software upon U.S. jobs. Many people fear the "great sucking sound" as software jobs are outsourced to cheaper labor in foreign countries, such as India. U.S. legislators have faced the issue and are trying to reduce the incentives of companies to hire workers abroad. There are many fears and uncertainties about globalization and the new global economy as many people fear change and competition from cheaper foreign labor. Are these fears justified? Is the American job market going to collapse? In the words of Ed Yourdon, has the "decline and fall of the American programmer? 4 Also, is it ethical to outsource software for cheaper labor?…
