Unfortunately, drug usage is common among the youth of today’s society. Many parents disregard this fact with the belief their teenager does not involve himself or herself with such a deteriorating substance. With over sixty percent of teenagers reporting that drugs are at their school, parents should monitor their teenagers for them because of health risks, addiction, and social issues.
As drugs become a growing aspect of the modern teenage lifestyle, these deteriorating substances can seriously affect the user's health at any age. Many teenagers do not realize that one bottle or one smoke can potentially destroy relationships and lead to depression and stress. Those who use drugs will focus more on the substance than their friends or family. Negative relationships may also build up as positive ones are destroyed. The negative impact on youth leads to poor decision making such as violence, pregnancies, and rebellion. If a parent was able to monitor this drug activity, the teenager's future would not be at
