ABSTRACT
This paper will explain the structure of a traditional retailer and online retailer. Challenges concerning leadership for each retailer will be identified, and finally advice will be given to the traditional retailer when transforming to an online retailer.
Shopping as it used to be still exist, but shopping is now available at your finger tip. Internet retailers or electronic-retailers is a business that utilize the internet to sell its goods or services (QFinance, 2013). This form of retailing was brought to the Internet in the mid-1990s; with its mergence brought forth new merchants/merchandising channels, and created a space which allowed all merchants to compete on common sector (Love, 2006). Whereas a traditional retailers have an actually building used to sell the goods and services to customer with in the store. This type of retail have existed centuries ago and continue to be a present entity in today’s time. Due to major financial issues recently at Apple Inc. the organization has to decide to change the organization structure of the company in effort to regain control of operations and finances to continue to operate in the competitive area (Scribd, 2013). Apple have key principles within the organizational structure such as (1) behavior at work which consist of personality traits displayed within the organization. Values, perceptions and personality traits are the key concepts in they have capabilities in molding the individual’s behaviors of day to day activities as well within the organization, (2) perceptual influence is the process as to acquiring, interpreting, selecting, and gaining information; which allows employees to see how the organization is structured and empower them as well.
