11. Describe the pathway of conduction from the atria to the ventricles and correlate this conduction with the ECG waves. The SA node is designated as the pacemaker of the heart. From the SA node, the electrical impulse spreads through interatrial tracts that spread the electrical impulse through the right and left atria and therefore cause atrial depolarization. As a result, a P-wave is observed. After the atria depolarize, the electrical impulse spreads through the internodal tracts and reach the atrioventricular node (AV node). The AV node has its own pacing rhythm that serves as a back up pacemaker in case the SA node fails to initiate an electrical impulse. Consequently, the AV node slows down the electrical impulse to allow the atria to project their blood into the ventricles. From the AV node, the impulse travels through the bundle of His, which bifurcate into the left and right bundle branches. From the branches, the impulse travels through the Purkinje fibers and allows the electrical impulse to end…
When a notice of pendency is cancelled pursuant to a motion under CPLR 6514, the CPLR 6514(C) allows for the court’s discretion and states that the court “may” award the aggrieved party “costs and expenses occasioned by the filing and cancellation, in addition to any costs of the action.” Id. Under subsection (b) of 6514, the court is empowered with discretionary authority as to determine whether the notice of pendency was brought in good faith or not, may cancel the notice of pendency if they determine it was not brought in good faith. Accordingly, when it is found the action was not brought in good faith, the court generally uses its discretion and awards costs and expenses. In No. 1 Funding Ctr., Inc. v. H & G Operating Corp., 48 A.D.3d 908, 909, 853 N.Y.S.2d 178, 180 (2008), the court held that the plaintiff commenced the action for specific performance and notice of pendency in bad faith, as they were unable to perform on the contract at the time, and therefore the cancellation was under the purview of 6514(b), and the defendant was entitled to costs and…
“A Message to Garcia”, was written one evening, after a dinner. It was about written in one hour on the date of 22FEB1899, on Washington's birthday. During the war between Russia and Japan, every front line soldier was given a copy. There were over 40 million copies of” A Message to Garcia” published. It has also been read to Marine Corps recruits for years.…

The evidence-based practice guideline that I chose is titled, “Myocardial Infarction,” written by the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim. The intended users for this guideline are health care providers and physicians. The target population is individuals with suspected or known myocardial infarction. The objective of this guideline is to “collect, summarize, and update the core clinical knowledge essential in general practice” and “describe the scientific evidence underlying the given recommendations.” (Finnish Medical Society Duodecim, 2008)…

The ER waiting room smelled stale. Sick babies and toddlers were crying, waiting to see a doctor. My brother was laying on the tan tiled hospital floor. He was shaking terribly as the antibiotics from the previous hospital wore off and the infection set in more. Both of his hands were red and swollen. His right hand, had a black mark from where the IV initially infected. His left hand was swollen to the size of a small balloon, kind of like a blown up rubber glove I used to get from the doctor when I was younger. My mom took her jacket off to cover him. His skin was hot to the touch but he was still freezing. His fever was 101.2 but there were no open rooms in the ER at our second attempt at a hospital. We had to get him antibiotics…
RN’s are greatly needed solely for the reason is that they provide the greatest level of care for many patients. An RN not only provides all types of care, but they also gives advice and helps coordinate other health services for their patients. An RN may be in charge of other nursing personnel such as interns, volunteers and techs. They may be also responsible for a patient’s overall case management, working together in conjunction with everyone from the patient to the primary care physician, as well as other…

My interpretation is that advance practice nursing and nursing has been around for many decades, and CNMS, CRNAs, CNSs, and NPs are just another way of expressing and demonstrating nursing care. Nursing has been delivered for many decades now. APRNS is an advancement in knowledge and skills and still have the focus of nursing of prevention and healing (American Nurses Association, 2011).…
Prader-Willi syndrome, (PWS) is a genetic disorder that occurs in about one in every eight thousand births in the United States. PWS occurs when there is a defect or deletion in the fifteenth chromosome from either maternal or paternal origins. Individuals diagnosed with PWS need enhanced supervision to address the constant need to over eat. Current research identifies that the paternal chromosome presents with significant maladaptive behaviors. Behavioral issues commonly known to the disorder differ dependent on the origin of the parental chromosome. Obesity, physical aggression, temper tantrums, ritualistic behaviors, stubbornness, and self- injurious behavior (skin picking), along with other maladaptive behaviors are all characteristic of individuals with PWS. Due to an increased awareness, and accurate and reliable genetic testing, diagnosis of PWS occurs earlier than in the past. Recommendations for conducting assessments, applying behavior management strategies, and environmental adaptations are all supported by research in managing behaviors among individuals with PWS regardless of the origins.…
Because the term “cancer” encompasses a broad range of diseases, diagnosing this disease will vary according to the affected tissues or regions from which it originates. According to Webster’s, the definition of cancer is “a malignant tumor of potentially unlimited growth that expands locally by invasion and systemically by metastasis.” It is this unlimited growth and the subsequent invasion of healthy tissue that makes cancers so deadly and aggressive treatment so vital.…
