Growing up in the City of Medellin, Pablo was the third of seven children. Abel de Jesús Dari Escobar, his father, was a farmer and Hermilda Gaviria, his mother, was an elementary school teacher. He did not come from a very privileged family but Pablo had high aspirations of becoming successful in the near future. By his early twenties, Pablo was selling cannabis, stealing cars as a hobby and awakening a new reputation for himself in the criminal underworld.
