Pablo Picasso said, “Painting is a blind man’s profession. He paints not what he sees but what he feels, (and) what he tells himself about what he has seen.” Pablo
Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain on October 25th, 1881, but he spent most of his adult life in France. France has over 2,000 miles of green and rugged coastline and
Picasso was constantly inserting it into his artwork. The geography and culture both inspired and depressed Picasso, and they were huge influences on how and what he painted. The geography and culture of France were two influential factors that were motivation behind Pablo Picasso’s work. One aspect of geography that shows up in …show more content…
This piece was especially remarkable because it was the revolutionary piece that began the art movement known as

then reassembled in a completely different order. The events of Picasso’s life were a source of inspiration for his art. Picasso’s Blue Period began in 1901 and illustrated situations of poverty, sadness, anger, and malnourishment.

Pablo Picasso was moved and inspired by geography and culture and they were two giant characteristics of his work. Geography and culture are different yet similar and often impact each other. They come together to form one single picture, and that is what influenced and inspired Picasso’s artwork. From his Blue Period (190104), through his
Rose Period (190406), his African Influence Period (190709), to his Analytic Cubism
Period (190912), to his Synthetic Cubism Period (191219), his Classicism and
Surrealism Period (191925), Picasso remained an important and influential artist. Pablo
Picasso died in 1973 and was arguably one of the most revolutionary artists of the 20th
