Then he tried his best in school, aim high for his dream…
My reflection on this movie, for I am still a student …i will try my very best to do good in school, I will try not to be tempted from wrongdoings ,I will try my best to make my parents proud on me. And do let them get angry, by Ben Carson I was touch by his story that despite of being nothing...He really study hard to fulfill his dream and I have to encourage myself to be same as Ben Carson… I will reflect this to myself for I am still a student, this movie will motivate me from my studying. Give importance and effort to all my subjects so that I can pass. Control myself not to be tempted from wrongdoings. And I will try my best to make my parents proud of me...this movie is a really touching story…we should have a determination to be a successful person. For me, I will do my best to achieve my goal also to finish my school.

Skinner created the Skinner Box in order to conduct experiments on operant conditioning, the box was his to own. His Skinner Box helped expand his knowledge, which also increased the amount of intangible things that he owns. The way the writer presented the sociological issues, which includes bullying, weight obsession and peer pressure, was truly compelling. The pressure of wanting to fit in, can affect a person’s life a variety of ways. Some people are strong enough to overcome the obstacles, while others are lost upon the way; moreover, in the movie both different personalities were presented through the main character. There are lessons that are taught throughout the movie, the most crucial one of all is to not let society interfere and set a norm in which must be…

One tool Ben Carson uses to combat his obstacles would be using his education to get ahead. At a young age, Ben Carson is faced with prejudice by his peers for not being as smart as they are. After completely failing a math test, Ben is tormented by his classmates and his self-confidence in his academic abilities dwindle. Through indefatigable effort, he receives academic awards and in 1969 he receives admission into Yale University. At Yale, Ben has a difficult time with chemistry and believes that he will fail his final exam and lose his scholarship. His girlfriend Candy proposes that he should use his own method of studying instead of following the routine lectures the professor gives. Ben devotes all his time and attention to acquiring knowledge and it pays off, he receives an “A” on his final and in 1976 he becomes one of two students out of 125 to be accepted into Johns Hopkins for neurosurgery residency. Even with all these accomplishments, Ben Carson deals with racism, but to his advantage Ben is the bigger man. In 1965 when Ben’s award ceremony is spoiled by his racist teacher, Ben displays great maturity in holding his tongue and not lashing out at her. Eleven years later in 1976, the civil rights movement is going on and African Americans are not looked upon with high regard. Most African Americans were looked down upon and came across as unintelligent, second class…

As Elizabeth and I researched Dr. Ben Carson, we were taken to the website for John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore where he was the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
