George Lawson and Wayne Sleep is a painting done by an artist named David Hockey in 1972. Hockey was born in Braford, England in 1939 and was an English painter, printmaker, stage designer and photographer. He was also involved in pop art movement in the 1960’s. Most of Hockey’s works were prints, portraits of his friends, and stage designs in New York City. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century.
David Hockey began this painting in 1972 and then abandoning the painting a year later after struggling with the figures and repainting the canvas.
