For hundreds of thousands of years now, different plants were able to be of use for drinks, antibiotics, dyes, beauty cosmetics, etc. to upgrade quality of life. The Panax Ginseng, found in mostly Korea and China, is regarded as one of the most important and useful herbs around the world, particularly in Asia. When its name is said in Chinese, it means “root of men”, which is associated to the form of the roots, which have a striking resemblance to legs of men. People have been using many different types of herbs to help with disorders or conditions that are hard to cure, and ginseng is known to be competent for their needs. Scientists have also greatly added to the knowledge of ginseng with many papers. The word Panax actually means cure of …show more content…
Ginseng has also been reported to be useful in the process of treating side effects of different cancers, diabetes, depression, side effects of radiation, and insomnia. It works like a stimulant, because it helps with endurance, it raises life expectancy, lipid levels, and fertility of women. It can also help with protection against diseases and conditions. According to past research, the Panax Ginseng has also shown that it can act as an adaptogen, by fighting viral infections to lengthen life. There is continuing research on how it also helps protect against the side effects of cancer drugs and treatments. It can also be used to relax or fuel the nervous system by increasing the amount of circulation in the brain capillaries, thus decreasing stress. It has also been proved to protect against colds, flues, and some types of cholesterol, however, it is not proven to lessen the symptoms or the time of the illness. It also lowers blood levels of cholesterol and sugar too, so it may be useful in the treatment in type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol levels.
