Panda Alternate Ending
Panda was the last Panda on a great mass of land. He was very lonely, and wanted to be around another Panda. One day Panda searched far and wide for something to eat. He could not find any, but he came upon a coyote.
Panda said, “Coyote, do you have anything that I can eat?”
Coyote replied,” Yes, but I’m not going to give you any.”
“Why not?” Panda exclaimed.
Coyote did not like Panda because he thought Panda was too friendly. Coyote finally found his chance to get rid of him.
“You are not going to want any. I do not have any bamboo, but I know a place where you can find some.”
“Where is this place? I must go there” Panda was very intrigued.
Coyote smoothly replied,”It’s a place far far away. You will have to travel for a very long time, but once you get there, there will be more bamboo than you can ever imagine”
Panda wanted to find this place very badly. If this wonderful place has so much bamboo, then there has to be more pandas there too. Coyote didn’t know if there was such a place as he described, but Panda didn’t know that so he said, “Walk in the direction of the setting sun. You must walk for many days and many nights, but keep walking in the direction of the sun set until you find the place with all the bamboo
Panda replied with great appreciation, “Thank you! I

He summoned a huge wave of water from the nearby ocean to stop Coyote. The water was very high and came washing over the flat lands. As the water received, it took part of the land with it creating huge mountains that were very uneven. When all the water had washed away, Coyote and Elephant were left standing on the highest mountain. Elephant looked around and was very pleased. This was Coyote’s punishment. Coyote loved to run quickly across the flat land, and he wouldn’t be able to do that anymore. If he was to run, he would have to run up and down the large masses of land. Coyote was furious. He could still run, but it would never be the same as it

The image by Image Zoo reflects the idea that moving into the world involves different pathways. This image uses the rule of thirds and symbolism to bring attention to the four different pathways to the centre tree trunk. The rule of thirds draws central focus to the light coming from the tree. This light symbolises the light that is present through different pathways and journeys. Light symbolises the hope, possibilities that come with moving into the world. Even though each pathway comes to the same centre of light, it branches upwards into different pathways shown at the top of the tree trunk. The tree symbolises the “Tree of life” as the tree that brings possibility to the world, it gives life and experiences to everyone. This brings to the main point that moving into the world, shown metaphorically as the tree through the four different pathways to new experiences.…

Perhaps, the powerful storyline of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was what encouraged one of the greatest cinematic martial arts directors Ang Lee, to make a film out of the Chinese novel. In this film, Lee’s primary function is not only to portray skillfully choreographed fighting scenes, but also to connect powerful sequences of events that touches upon the emotional complex human condition that is associated with both the Taoist and Buddhist belief systems. By not allowing action to be the sole guiding force of the narrative of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Lee has indeed made some adaptation to the Taoist and Buddhist philosophy. The Bamboo Forest Fighting scene adjoins all of these elements in a beautiful sequence. The clear Buddhist and Taoist philosophies shine through each element of the sequence to produce a working subtext that respects and frames the culture of the myth's origin.…

In the myth Old Man Coyote, the “Old Man” is about an older coyote that is weak, patchy and wrinkled with no teeth. With all these negative features he degrades himself to a lower standard of civilization. He cannot hunt anymore because he gets tired too fast and if he did catch anything he does not have strong teeth to chew. Before he depended on his grandchildren who did all the work for him but they have grown and have their own families to assist. In admiration, he saw a buffalo bull standing in the prairie from afar that he believed he used to be like before, young and strong. The “Old Man” approached the buffalo and asked a favor of becoming like him, young, strong and beautiful again in his life. The buffalo granted him his wish without powers and there the Old Man Coyote became a Calf-Coyote without powers. For the next few years in his new life he roamed the wilderness living happily and young but deep inside laid his true self which is the Old Man Coyote. Later on in the years, he met an old ragged coyote who wished to be like him and the Calf-Coyote remembered how the transformation was performed and granted the old ragged coyote his wish forgetting he does not have any powers. He started the process and at the end when they both rolled downside the mountain it ended up with two old, hungry coyotes. Moral of the story is to not start anything one cannot finish.…

Remarkably, his smiling at Coyote’s tracks provides evidence of the positive influence Coyote has on his life. He also prays for good luck – for both him and Coyote. What is also interesting is the “thanks”. Here, he is showing his gratitude for Coyote’s guidance and help he has provided during trying times, and the good luck he wishes to have as he continues onward in life. He employs to shed Coyote in a more positive light than he has been in before. Like other Native-Americans, he sees Coyote as something not all entirely bad. He recognizes that Coyote does cause trouble for both himself and others, but he also can be helpful in getting others out of trouble as well. He does not only sees him as a guiding figure, but he also sees himself in Coyote as well.…

    Coyote And Wasichu Essay

The universal theme in ‘Coyote and Wasichu’ is that people should never overestimate their strengths as there will always be one person who may outsmart you. In the text, a man says “there’s somebody who can out cheat you anytime, anywhere.” This emphasises that some believe they are the only ones who can do things perfectly, they realise it too late that it doesn't work that way. They become hurt when someone touches their pride as they have lost. Wasichu had a strong sense of pride so he listened to everything coyote said as he believed he was the best and that no matter what he uses he will always win. Coyote said “ well friend, I'm a poor rider. Your horse is afraid of me and I'm afraid of him. Lend me your clothes; then your horse will think that I am you”. This shows that sometimes you are already…

    The Turtle

The environment in the Turtle and the Dust bowl was both arduous and painful. The highway was edged with a mat of tangled, broken dry grass. There were thistles and thorns on the way. The Turtle had his feet hurt and the grass made him hard to move forward. These uprooted grass were caused by the dust storm. In the reality, the Great Plain was suffering from the Dust Bowl, so the grass was also uprooted. And also because of the wind, all plants were a mess. People on the way west could not find proper roads to walk on. The Dust and wind also made them difficult to move. The sun warms the grass. The embankment is steep. The Dust Bowl lasted for over 10 years. So probably many migrants were suffering from the hot weather, like the Turtle walked in the sun. There are many mountains on the way to California, such as the Rocky Mountain. The embankment was like all mountains, steeper and steeper.…

    Acting Technique Essay

I found finding an animal and engulfing it as I am quite enjoyable, as pandas have been my favourite animal since a very young age I was confident on its movements, behaviours and signatures. I experimented with a panda ‘looking for someone to mate with’, a panda ‘in danger’ and a panda ‘acknowledging other animals in the space’. With the first experiment (panda looking for someone to mate with) I tried using a faint panda cry for communication. I sat down on my bottom, slumped my spine but kept a consistent energy in my neck which bought life to my mask. I received a humorous response from the audience. A panda in danger was a little bit difficult as pandas are slow movers I had to use a lot of sustaining but keep my energy up as I was being chased or avoiding something. So how I approached this task was another experiment. I would get on all fours, briskly walk/jog to another bit of space, stop and look around. I would keep doing this to show my masks anxiety. It didn’t quite feel right at times, I feel that I had to pause at the correct times for it to be effective, not just pause on some sort of rhythmic pattern. I had to earn the pause. The 3rd scenario (acknowledging other animals in the space), was somewhat easier. It started off like the first scenario then I would walk and tumble over to the other animals (to show them I was wanting to play) then groom myself then gently bump them with my head. I perceived these actions as playful and out going, just like all the pandas out there.…
