I don't agree with the methods employed in Operation Fast and Furious. Main reason is the ridiculousness of the pros and cons. There are much more cons in this situation right off the start. The moment the federal government decided to sell 2,000 rifles and handguns to these cartels is when they made an inexcusable mistake. You can't give criminals weapons and expect to track them as if they will be insight or fully in control of them. Better methods should have been implemented in this program. Starting with the under staffing of the operation, the ATF should have requested greater help and communication with the local law enforcement agencies. I guess in some ways certain federal agencies keep certain operations a secret to prevent being…

The reason why the Fast and the Furious is part of a popular culture is because it illustrates a diverse cast of multiracial individuals working together to gain power and steal wealth from large political figures. The audience enjoys watching characters that look like them and are “underdogs” trying to get gain a better life. The film not only reflexes multiracial networking but gender equality. Beltran (2005) states that white majority no longer fits within this country (pp. 55), and I believe Beltran points out the trends in ethnic demographics and the youth-driven popular culture. In the film, Romeo Must Die, there is little to no screen time dedicated to the white characters in the film. The film showcases hip-hop, Chinese and African-American cultures set in the Inner city, struggling to gain power over each other. As Beltran (2005) indicates on page 63, the growing representation of race in the film is directly related to the nonwhite subordinates who have a powerful influence over…

Drive, based on the novel by James Sallis, is a new and refreshing take on an action-thriller that will leave you emotionally attached and, instead of just witnessing a film, you find it easy to care about the story. The unnamed hero, played by Ryan Gosling, is elegantly violent but all in good cause. Instead of the countless number of films we've seen with cheesy computer generated images and dim-witted acting followed by heavy profanity and gruesome violence, we're given…

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) is the fourth film in the “Mad Max” franchise, directed by George Miller. At its heart, Mad Max: Fury Road is an action film following protagonist Max Rockatansky’s fight for survival in an apocalyptic wasteland, but it could also be considered a revolutionary piece of cinema. Mad Max: Fury Road is interestingly constructed, with the main protagonist Max taking a back seat throughout the film and having little dialogue, allowing the power of the strong female characters such as Imperator Furiosa to shine through. This is an extremely standout approach, as many other action films of this time tend to exclusively feature strong male protagonists, with women taking…
