She knew that one day something could happen to her, and she no longer will be with us. She was well prepared for it. Another consequence would have been the ultimate fame that came along with breaking these records. The press would bombard her with questions and she would have almost no privacy. Some may argue that she wasn’t worried about the consequences. However, she took great precautions before setting off on any of her journeys. flying. Amelia Earhart was very courageous because of the numerous records she set. For example, she set the record for the highest point in flight with an altitude of 14,000 ft. She also was the first woman to fly solo across America and back. Because she was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean with others, she wanted to challenge herself with doing it alone, completely solo. Amelia attempted a lot of records, and she set quite a lot. The article, Biography of Amelia Earhart, states “... Earhart continued to break records. She set an altitude record for auto-gyros of 18,415 feet that stood for years. On January 11, 1935, she became the first person to fly across the Pacific [Ocean] from Honolulu to Oakland, California.” Setting all these different records proved her to be daring and that she kept on trying. Some may argue that she is just another pilot in the world, and that there is nothing special about her. However, being able to fly this well using the technology at that time was an amazing accomplishment, almost impossible to accommodate into her innumerable feats. Therefore, Amelia Earhart was a brave a courageous young woman. The unimpressed 10-year old who stood watching a plane dive at her, is now remembered for her impressive flying skills. She was bold and daring because she acted as men usually would, cutting her hair, and many other qualities. She knew the risks of flying and she understood that she could possibly die. Amelia was a great role model, because she showed children back then, and nowadays, that determination gets a person whatever they want, or whatever they need. Children and adults can learn from her that persistence is necessary, and to never, ever give up, no matter what. Earhart showed to people that going after dreams may be hard, but not impossible.
